It is like that every week; but it seemed odd to have 3 sympathetic comments and then get Ore and Claudia gushing about surviving and still being in.

It was edited very poorly and whilst I'm no fan of Ore I don't think it was that fair as it paints both him and Claudia not in a very good way.

However I'm sure the majority can see that it is edited... it just felt very uneven in how it was presented
It always amazes me that people see things like this and put a particular complexion on it. I couldn't even tell you who said what or in what order - even three minutes after the end of the show.

The forensic analysis of a significantly edited piece of VT - and the various interpretations subsequently placed on it by people on this forum - is incredible.

In fact, I'll go even further and say that the scrutiny of the minutiae of every word, facial expression, interaction with another person - and even stuff which has been completely fabricated from someone's overactive imagination - leaves me utterly astonished, week after week.

My Aunt was in the house tonight and like the rest of my family is a Strictly fan. However at the very end of the result show you see the usual interviews with the contestants and my Aunt complained about Claudia and Ore because they talked about themselves while everyone else commented on how much they will miss Ed Balls.

Now I have noticed this for a while and I understand that it's all edited but it does make contestants look bad if they're shown talking about themselves instead of the one who is eliminated.
The BBC blog on SCD does in fact show much more of the after show discussions about the departing celeb. In this instance Ed.

If you watch the Goodbye Ed video here http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2191335
you will know that Claudia spoke very movingly and at length about her sadness at seeing Ed go out, and AJ added a lot himself.
What the viewers see is heavily edited.

I agree with you about over-analysis in general, but the fact that the OP says his aunt complained about the celebs shown talking about themselves rather than Ed shows the power of editing (and the inability, apparently, of many to recognize it).

The segment is quite obviously edited to be a transition between a sad goodbye and a happy look forward to the next week.

But the audience don't. Imagine if they had to bring two outfits to the show! What chaos!

Yes I know.... it just always surprises me that people don't grasp the purpose of the editing process but instead imagine that the content of these brief interviews is driven by the celebs, rather than the production team and then see fit to make judgments or criticisms of them based upon what they are shown, rather than what actually took place.
