If I am not wrong, I think the judges have deducted points for accidental lifts. Brendon is the only one who used to defy the judges, but I am sure the accidental ones have been punished before. I still remember Len saying there was an illegal lift and the celeb didn't realise that she had raised both legs. It has happened before. We are talking about 10s here, if another celeb had got a 10 with an illegal lift, yes. If they only got a 8 or 9, who cares. I can't remember Daisy's dance, may be I didn't watch that week. What was her score?? Did she get 10s??
Craig did it to Kara and Artem during one of their dances (I think it was either a VW or rhumba) - it was definitely an accidental one her foot was supposed to stay on the floor and he thought it came off accidentally. I remember it well because their fans were not happy with Craig over that - it came across as nit-picking so you're right what the judges pick up in does seem to be influenced as much by what mood they're in and how much they like the couple or want to big up them or someone else rather than what they actually do at times.

BIB - it was both, but I've long ago given up on consistency in the judging between episodes, let alone between series

Was it Daisy and Aljaz this year that got the annual Len 'warning' about a point off for every lift? (even though there had been others that had gone un-warninged before it?)

I was watching the same dance as you

I have no idea how Louse keeps getting 10s. YES she can dance but there is no wow factor to any of her dances. Aside from her AT none of her dances have deserved a 10.

Seems the same every year with Kevins partners, they are competant but vboring, yet the judges seem to rave about them and over mark every week. Susanna, Frankie and Kellie were all far from the best in their series but the judges raved about them. Louise is just dull to watch.

Another not picking thread about Louise...there must have been a dozen of them this weekend. I get it..you want your favourite in the final instead of her. Now maybe that will happen and maybe it won't, but let the dancing do the talking and don't rely on conspiracy theories and mud slinging. I'm being quite put off of some contestants...sometimes their fans really are their worst enemies.
First of all it is a discussion about getting a 10 with mistakes is only okay if your judges pet but to blame it on wanting your favorite in the final instead of her is a load of rubbish ... my favorite has been eliminated and I think it is unfair that Louise got a 10 having made a blatant mistake in her dance. She also got top marks for the cha cha aton when she clearly was NOt the best on the floor. I do get fed up of the Clifton police on here ready to knock anyone who dares to question points that is not worshiping them.

to be perfectly honest I think the judges enforc "the rules" as and when they feel like it

if they like the celeb - the rules go out the window, if they dont, they come down on them like a tonne of bricks for every single teeny tiny mistake they make

10s used to be reserved for absolute perfection - they are now given out like sweets

I stopped reading at judge's pet. That's pure speculation and the 'pet' seems to change every week to suit the narrative.

For their Cha Cha in Week 2. Aljaz admitted on ITT he put it in on purpose, he hadn't told Daisy it was illegal And she said the lift was supposed to be even higher but she hadn't performed it very well

If Len hadn't told him off Daisy's Grandma would have done, she didn't want Daisy paired with Brendan due to his reputation for illegal lifts

For the people who think that people keep criticizing " Louise and Kevin " ONLY here, just go and take a look at the comments on her and Kevin waltz on strictly Facebook. ...All the top comments with hundreds of likes are mentioning : Lift that the judges didn't mention, overmarked, shouldn't have won the cha cha challenge. ... so it's not only DS who sees these things.

I honestly don't see her winning, whatever the case may be : it's between Danny, the judge and Claudia IMO. Claudia is the biggest threat of Danny ; people have really rallied behind her; especially after her AT which deserved at least one 10.

I spotted it but it was very blink and you miss so they probably just didn't spot it.

If it was Claudia that did it the judges would've made it known.
Claudia had about 3 lifts in her Jive last week and nothing was mentioned.

Craig has penalised plenty of celebs for "illegal lifts" in the past...

For example, Kara was deducted 1 point by Craig because her toe was 1 cm off the floor, it could have been the rhumba but I may have been proved wrong, even though it was an accident he still classed it as an illegal lift.

Craig is not consistent regarding down-marking lifts... depends who is the celeb, he has his favourites and will mark accordingly
Craig did it to Kara and Artem during one of their dances (I think it was either a VW or rhumba) - it was definitely an accidental one her foot was supposed to stay on the floor and he thought it came off accidentally. Thanks. This is the one I had to rewind a few times and watch, the jury is still out on whether the dust from Kara's shoes were touching the floor.

I don't see anyone 'worshipping them', What I do feel is that they get a very rough ride on this forum and yet Kevin has won a most popular pro awarded by the public. I get it if people don't like his style of dance oh think he's been rude on screen (not that I have ever seen that) but when everything including his hair, his pleasure at being in for another week is picked apart from his detractors it becomes wearisome.

How many threads are there on him and Louise compared to anyone else on the show?

But if you make a comment detracting (or indeed praising) then expect a response and don't whinge when you get one.

Yes I did, but dared not mention it on here. After all, St Kevin of Grimsby can do no wrong
Really? I find that too often he can do no right around here, and that there is a selection of Clifton hate threads on any given day that like-minded posters can choose from. You can't be looking hard enough...

There are many things that are great about Kevin and I will acknowledge them and sometimes I think it's his partners who attract ire and not him. A lot of people found Susannah and Kellie very annoying and probably would have done whoever they were with. Louise is not annoying as a personality they way they were to some people but the fact she could be something better than she is if she brought more personality to her dancing and she's at least perceived to be very over-rated and over-marked is.

What great fun it is to peruse this forum every day and find the same 15-20 posters harping on about KFG and Louise being boring, beige, bland, vanilla, unexciting, favoured by the music, favoured by the dances, favoured by the judges, related to the judges, wearer of awful hats, made a lift in a dance, ate a banana that wasn't free trade....

I find these 15-20 people boring, repetitive, unhinged, biased, sad, with too much time on their hands, taking too much time concerning themselves over a RTV show....

Louise is a likable 42 year old woman, mother of 2 and the second best dancer in this series of SCD.

I'm off to start a thread entitled "How did Danny get 40 for his Charleston when a part of it was out of sync ? " ......or maybe I'll find something better to do.

I've got a few of things to add:-

How about a poll with regard to if you should do that or not? However I could start a thread about predicting if you would do that. Then If you are going to, maybe we could have a spoiler thread on the result.

I agree, katmobile, in the main. I liked Susannah initially with the new pro as he was. I went off her a tad at the end but still liked Kevin. I couldn't abide Kellie and together I found them both irritating because of the rah rah of it all. I love him and Louise together, no dramatics, no sob stories, just good dancing. It is quite soothing

I don't think she is over rated but I do think she could push herself harder in performance but I am one of the few that loved their waltz.

There has been overmarking all over the shop this series and wouldn't you say Claudia was overmarked for her jive?

I think if it's totally unintentional rather than choreographed they tend to let it go. I've spotted similar with other couples in the past who haven't been penalised.
Oh but this is Louise, any old excuse to put her in the wrong. It's not her fault if someting isn't right. They all do illegal lifts. But they don't get mentioned.
