Why are we doing a vote to save someone rather than to evict a campmate? When I was voting I couldn't help but wonder whether someone like Adam, Larry or Jordan might have gone if I was voting to evict rather than just using pretty much all my votes to save just the one person

I think that the voting system is designed to keep the more controversial characters in the show for as long as possible. Those camp-mates who divide public opinion might well be thrown out in a vote to evict but they may also be well-supported in a vote to save (a bit like Ed Balls was in SCD).

This way its the people who have largely flown under the radar who are the first to go. as usually (nice as they may well be) they are the ones who have provided the least entertainment for the viewers.

So that the winner is most popular and not least offensive

It's always been vote to save on this programme. I wonder if it's got something to do with making them feel not quite so bad if they haven't actually been voted out? Isn't it the same with celebrity BB, always vote to save?

Civilian BB is the only series of any reality/talent show that is VTE.

Every other show is a positive one... IAC, Strictly, X Factor, BGT.

Call me cynical, but it must have something to do with revenue. Just not clever enough to work out how.

In theory people will vote for every contestant if its to save. Thats more votes, and you have to keep on making them every day. If it was to evict, one or two people will go quickly and rarely get as many votes as everyone would being saved , and most people will get few votes. . In practice, though, with vote to save , many people have no support, and most votes will go to a few people.

The main reasons is that vote to save keeps the people the viewers want in - because they like them , or want to see blood and tears because of them. The producers can keep them in too by just not showing other people. If you let there be a vote to evict there would be no Martin, even less drama, and anyone nice who did anything positive , could win.

It's so these pampered celebs can place a shred of doubt that the nation hates them
