My local electrical shop are selling off end of line samsung hospitality TVs.

Do these differ much from regular home-use tellys? are the panels better or worse?

I'd expect them to be the same.

But I'd be worried about having to explain to my wife that I was just watching an ordinary film when getting the bill before setting off to work...

Aren't they locked down so you can't re-tune the channels or change the picture settings? You would need to know the access codes.

I'm sure you'd get the necessary codes.

According to the specs it only has a DVB-T tuner so no Freeview HD if that matters to you.

It will be identical to the similar normal model, just with a few extra bits and software for the hotel part. Quite a few domestic sets have hotel modes as well, although they are usually hidden away, and quite often not even mentioned in the service manuals.
