Is it okay to leave my amp on 24/7?
I have just purchased an Amazon Echo Dot and have got it paired via Bluetooth to my Sony STR-DN1050. As this is connected to my main speakers, I will need to leave my amp on 24/7. Will this shorten the life of the unit? I know when you put it to standby, it isn't really turning it off fully but just wondered.
Thanks. |

Why would you think you need to leave your Sony amp on 24/7?

I leave my amp on 24/7. I don't know if it has some sort of power saving mode.

Because that's the Bluetooth device my Amazon Dot is connected to and the amp is connected to the speakers. Or am I missing something? The Dot can't turn the amp off and on so I would need to manually turn the amp on each time I need to use Alexa.

I've had the amp in my lounge on for 16 hours a day for over seven years now, it seems to be working fine.
