Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Week 1of Skating on the Dancefloor. Me and the other judges (Julie, East, John and Callum) have all scored and commented on this weeks performances and they are ready to show. Unfortunately, due to me being busy, this week is a little rushed however I promise it will not all be like this. But enough jibber-jabber, and let's welcome our first skating star!
Tom Rosenthal & Nina Ulanova skate to ‘My Way (Calvin Harris)’
RILEY: 3.0
EAST: 3.5
JOHN: 3.0
CALLUM: 3.5
JULIE: 4.5
Total: 17.5
Riley’s Comment: Tom, that was a nice way to start the series. Your skating wasn’t perfect but you enjoyed and put on a good performance
Julie’s 4.5 makes a difference to Tom’s score and he ends up with a higher-than-average 17.5, good start to the competition!
Can former Hollyoaks star and her partner Matt Evers recreate their success?
Gemma Merna & Matt Evers skate to ‘So Good (Louisa Johnson)
RILEY: 3.5
EAST: 2.5
JOHN: 4.0
CALLUM: 3.5
JULIE: 3.5
Total: 17.0
Callum’s Comment: For a first skate, it was quite strong both on a technical and performance scale. Your lines are beautiful, you now need to watch the transitions between movements especially lifts, they need to be smoothed out much more.
Despite 17.0 being a good score, it still puts them behind Tom and Nina.
Next up, reality star Jeremy McConnell & Brooke Castile!
Jeremy McConnell & Brooke Castile skate to ‘Side to Side (Ariana Grande)’
RILEY: 2.5
EAST: 2.5
JOHN: 2.0
CALLUM: 3.0
JULIE: 4.0
Total: 14.0
Julie’s Comment: I was expecting a lot more from you, Jeremy. You seemed to be not doing a lot of the more tough moves, however, you were still good!
It seems Julie liked that more than others, however 14.0 is a score that unfortunately puts him bottom of the leaderboard for now.
Will TV presenter Rylan be able to top that?
Rylan Clark-Neal & Katie Stainsby skate to ‘Don’t Wanna Know (Maroon 5)’
RILEY: 2.5
EAST: 3.0
JOHN: 2.5
CALLUM: 2.0
JULIE: 1.5
Total: 11.5
East’s Comment: Not a bad effort Rylan, it was fun and entertaining, and you were confident in the performance aspects, unfortunately you had the technique of a wet handkerchief, wet and sloppy, but as I say, you made everyone laugh and I enjoyed it.
Seems East liked that the most, but hey, you can’t please everyone.
Next up restaurateur Prue Leith and her partner Sean Rice!
Prue Leith & Sean Rice skate to ‘Shoutout to My Ex (Little Mix)’
RILEY: 2.0
EAST: 2.0
JOHN: 2.0
CALLUM: 1.5
JULIE: 5.5 :O
Total: 13.0
John’s Comment: It just didn’t excite me there was as much action as a floorboard, you seemed as elegant as an iceberg watch your lifts they were ugly dismounts if you’re going to do them make them look half decent in the presentation.
Julie’s score is enough to flip the total round and avoid Prue being bottom of the leaderboard but if you want her here next show, make sure you vote at the end of the show!
Up next is comedian Noel Fielding and his partner Maria Fillipov!
Noel Fielding & Maria Fillipov skate to ‘In The Name Of Love (Bebe Rexha)’
RILEY: 2.5
EAST: 1.0
JOHN: 3.0
CALLUM: 2.0
JULIE: 4.5
Total: 13.0
Julie’s Comment: Well done! Nearly the skate of the night.
Julie, once again, seems to have different views to the panel, however he ends up second to last on the leaderboard – joint with Prue Leith of all people.
Will Sugababe Keisha Buchanan be able to avoid being bottom of the leaderboard?
Keisha Buchanan & Pavel Aubrecht skate to ‘This Town (Niall Horan)’
RILEY: 4.0

Next up, singer Florence Welch and her partner Colin Ratushniak!
Florence Welch & Colin Ratushniak skate to ‘Heathens (twenty one pilots)’
RILEY: 3.0
EAST: 3.5
JOHN: 4.5
CALLUM: 3.5
JULIE: 4.5
Total: 19.0
John’s Comment: Brilliant stuffed with complex choreography executed fantastically.
Unfortunately, Florence does not beat Keisha and instead comes 2nd on the judges leaderboard.
Can Adam Woodyatt beat her though?
Adam Woodyatt & Vicky Ogden skate to ‘Say You Won’t Let Go (James Arthur)’
RILEY: 2.0
EAST: 1.5
JOHN: 2.5
CALLUM: 1.5
JULIE: 2.0
Total: 9.5
Callum’s Comment: A beautiful song which could've been performed elegantly and beautifully. The ironic part is that you constantly did let go of your partner. It was a duet, not a solo.
With scores just between 1.5 and 2.5, our Enders’ star overtakes Rylan at the bottom of the leaderboard with a dismal 9.5 points.
Will Gogglebox star Betty Moffatt be able to avoid the bottom?
Betty Moffatt & Andrei Lipanov skate to ‘Black Beatles (Rae Sremmurd)’
RILEY: 1.5
EAST: 1.5
JOHN: 3.0
CALLUM: 3.0
JULIE: 6.0 :O
Total: 15.0
East’s Comment: I'm sorry but you'd be better sitting down than skating, Seriously though, you were tense and stiff, there was no flow or fluidity however I can see some promise and your posture was good but you need to work on quite a bit of stuff.
A 6.0?? :O On week 1?? TO BETTY? Wow, tonight really is a night of surprises!
Up next is YouTuber Joe Sugg, will he be able to garner a 6 as well?
Joe Sugg & Frankie Poultney skate to ‘24K Magic (Bruno Mars)’
RILEY: 3.0
EAST: 4.0
JOHN: 3.5
CALLUM: 4.5
JULIE: 6.0 :O
Total: 21.0
Riley’s Comment: Joe, this was alright. Not perfect but not bad – somewhere inbetween. Next week I would like to see you explore more and try some different things, try and stand out more.
The answer is... yes! Joe is able to get a 6 too and overtakes Keisha at the top of the leaderboard!
Can Alexandra Burke do the same?
Alexandra Burke & Sylvain Longchambon skate to ‘Rockabye (Clean Bandit)’
RILEY: 4.0
EAST: 5.0
JOHN: 3.5
CALLUM: 4.0
JULIE: 5.0
Total: 21.5
John’s Comment: You are a frontrunner and did a great job bring on next week.
Yes, she can! Once again, the leaderboard changes and Alex overtakes Joe and Keisha.
Our next star is moving on to solo projects, could this just be the beginning? It’s singer Louis Tomlinson and his partner Brianne Delcourt!
Louis Tomlinson & Brianne Delcourt skate to ‘Mercy (Shawn Mendes)’
RILEY: 3.5
EAST: 3.0
JOHN: 4.0
CALLUM: 3.5
JULIE: 3.5
Total: 17.5
East’s Comment: Louis I didn't enjoy it, too much larking about and it took you 42 SECONDS to stand on your feet, Why?

Once you were on your feet, you didn't skate much but I thought the skating that you did do was BRILLIANT, Brianne, this guy is a great skater, you need to let him show that to us but overall, I did enjoy watching it, but not enough content.
Apparently, Louis hasn’t fulfilled expectations and ends up with 17.5 points.
Can our final couple, Game of Thrones beauty Emilia Clarke and Daniel Whiston do any better?
Emilia Clarke & Daniel Whiston skate to ‘Ain’t My Fault (Zara Larsson)’
RILEY: 4.0
EAST: 2.5
JOHN: 3.0
CALLUM: 4.0
JULIE: 4.0
Total: 17.5
Callum’s Comment: Up there with the best performances of the evening, you and Daniel had beautiful chemistry and told a fantastic narrative which is something a lot of couples have lacked tonight.
While me, Callum and Julie enjoyed it, East and John were not that keen – which took an effective on their score and they end up with the 3rd 17.5 of the night.
