Can you remember which of this year's contestants were watching the show? I think Lesley, Ed and Laura were all there. I was wondering about Anastacia, Naga, Daisy and Will.

Everyone says it's worth it. Nothing like the X'mas show, must have been really fun. I was never Melvin's fan, before the show, but I really like the way handled his exit, nice guy. |

Thanks. I am glad you had a good time. Did you also have to queue from early hours??

I'm so happy it was the Christmas one. Amazing atmosphere and without the rush of live we got lots of time to chat to the celebs/judges as they passed! |

Melvin was absolutely incredible, he really deserved it. It wasn't a pity win at all, he was by far the best dance!

Sorry - folks: I PM'd Monaogg as I couldn't find this thread but she's obviously not around (she has a LIFE?????? Who knew!
)Confirmed result: First place - Melvin & Janette Second place - Frankie & Gorka They both scored 40 but Melvin won the audience vote. Thanks for the spoiler. ![]() I'm very pleased that Melvin and Janette won. I think that he would have improved a lot if he had stayed in the competition. Which dance did he and Janette perform? |

Thanks for posting the spoiler. I have been at work, which is the only reason I did not pick up the PMs.

Thanks for the spoiler.
I was very pleased that Melvin was given a second go as I didn't agree with the way he was eliminated in the slightest. Even more pleased that he turned out to have potential that we didn't see in the brief time he was in the main series |

Thanks for the spoiler. I'm gobsmacked Melvin won considering who was all on it but good for him 😊
It's really quite a shame he was eliminated so soon as he obviously could have had great potential. He must have been quite gutted to have been first out of the main show. |

Unfortunately not. We haven't even quite got who was partnered with whom! Pamela was with Pasha, but she's not sure whether Ainsley or Gethin were with Chloe or Karen.
(Amateur mole, drafted in at the last minute! )I find it difficult to believe Melvin could beat anyone out of those with the possible exception of Ainsley. |

I find this really baffling. They line up four of their best runners-up of all time, and have them beaten by a first boot who showed no real ability whatsoever. These are people who went through three months of intense dance training with the pros the show provided, got multiple 10s, and all came within fingertips of winning, in the case of Frankie quite recently, and now they have them all tonked by someone who was on the show for barely two weeks and was crap. It makes the whole show just look incredibly random and blows the whole "journey" thing apart.
I get that it's for Christmas but it just seems dumb. It undermines the show to be honest. Good for Melvin though I guess. I'll wait and see if I think he deserved it. |

At this rate Ainsley was probably so good he won an extra special Golden Ticket to compete again in the next series as a pro.

The others may well have got 10s and come close to winning, but how many of them will have danced in the last year or more? Probably none. And they learnt routines, not the proper technique, so with only a few days or so training there'll be a limit to how much they can revisit and remember. That said though, Melvin would have been my last bet for winning, but if someone who was there said he deserved it then he mustn't have been terrible! |

If he produces a brilliant dance, even just 9s standard, I'll be ok with it due to the surprise factor, but if it's a solid Week 1/2/3/4 dance... ...I'm actually calling a fix.
