Look at all those who only a few short months/weeks ago proclaimed how Sean O'Connor would rescue the show from the clutches of the "egotistical and self absorbed" Dominic Treadwell Collins.... bet you aren't under the same impressions now in fact I guarantee it was all those same people who were cribbing and moaning about how dreadful DTC was are the same ones who have now already turned on Sean O'Connor...

I guess some people just are not happy unless they are cribbing regardless...

I'll admit I love the irony of it

As much as a big fan I was of DTC's era I'll have to admit things haven't been great recently but I'm not going to give up Sean O'Connor yet... but the poor man was put on far too high of a pedestal things were always going to end up like this.

Irony? not me I was a massive fan of DTC

tonight was drastically dreary. I hope it will improve. I thought the highlight o the night was Babe & I am normally calling for her to be hung out to dry.

As was I I'm only talking about those who moaned and cribbed about DTC and praised Sean O'Connor and how he was going to restore some "glory" and look at it now...

Of course I have to acknowledge there was fans of DTC's era like you and I and plenty of others, but my god the man got some amount of stink on this which is now been quickly passed on to SOC

my words on this forum when dtc stepped down was to be careful what you wish for, I was quite happy to forgive some obvious misdemeanors on the basis that the vast majority of the time it was an entertaining watch.

I was a little concerned from the get go about soc but was prepared to give him a chance, I even praised the Whitney Lee wedding which a lot slated as I thought they both played it out well and it was a bit different to have a low key wedding, but I have given up all hope now and am at this point purely watching for the habit factor, tonight it was fenced between corrie and sleb so of course I would watch.

other than that this dodgy camera work is quite out the ordinary for a TV show in 2016 so although a bit twisted I'm finding that aspect quite entertaining

Over hyped by who?

Sock hasn't actually done any press or interviews and most certainly hasn't hyped himself up (unlike the previous producer). He has quietly got on with the job he is paid for, he has quietly set about fixing the mess the previous producer made. He has lined up a number of storylines that are being built up and up as each episode goes on.

He has given characters much needed development and in a fair few cases started showing the arey actually more than 2d cardboard cutouts and have layers and personality. He has humanised the square made people care about the characters. Under dtc no one gave a stuff about Lees depression it was hit and miss being shown in an ep then missed for werks. Sock has stepped up and given the story direction..

Maybe forum members need to stop getting themselves overexcited and stop hyping things up and they will find less disappointment

Well I'm telling you as someone who has watched the show for almost 28 years and started watching it at the age of 6/7 and instantly fell in love with it and have been a massive fan of it since that this is the worst it's been and I thought Lorraine Newman was the worst

Tonight wasn't the best though.

I am starting to think EastEnders is in crisis which is so sad.

Cant say i was a huge fan of DTC's work, but now i am starting to realise just how much i actually wish he was still at the show !
IMO he left too soon, he had so many loose ends to tie up but just seems to have left it with the new producer, bit odd, think he should have waited till the new year.
I wonder what he thinks of Ronnie and Roxy being killed off?

Overhyped and praised by pretty much every DTC detractor on this forum who proclaimed as the savior who would undo all the wrongs made by Dom, which is true

and yes that is exactly the point I was making, too many people on here expected too much from Sean compared to DTC and hence why they are all now so bitterly disapointed and giving Sean the same stink that was once being received by DTC

Which I think most of us would agree is an utter crime to soap, there's no logic in his decision to do this whatsoever.

The camera work tonight was making me feel sick, whats with all the panning/zooming in and out?

The other day the music was so loud over dialogue that i thought somethign else was playing while i was watching it.
