She's a great singer, seems a genuinely lovely woman and now she has a shot of winning.

What do you think her chances are of a successful singing career in the UK and Europe (outside of Finland). She's written a great deal of songs already which didn't light up the charts at home, but that doesn't mean that she can't do great with some producers.

I can't see how they would market Saara personally, which is a shame. She definitely has a future in singing, I just don't know if she can break commercially. I think if she did piano based music where the focus was her voice, she could capture a small market in adult contemporary but I don't see Syco approaching her like that. I don't see good things in her future unfortunately.

Does anyone have any ideas about music that she would do that wouldn't be awful? I'm saying adult contemporary.

She won't be chart relevant, the most likely to be chart relevant will be 5AM.

However if Syco tried they could try and make her into a blend of Kate Bush and Idina Menzel and see how it goes.

With her versatility she would make a decent session singer.

^This.

I love Saara, but I don't think she wil chart relevant. She might prove me wrong, but I just don't see her being really succesful in that way.

However, I can see her going to an Idina Menzel direction kind of career, maybe focusing more on theater and musicals as she would be a perfect fit for Broadway.

The charts seem unlikely, though fluke singles are always possible.

I've been thinking Idina Menzel too. Theater and maybe some session and soundtrack work on the side here and there. Nice little career if she can pull it together after the show.

High, but probably not in the charts. She originally auditioned to "try making a few contacts in the UK", because she prefers singing in English, so I suspect she has already far exceeded her expectations and then some.

I don't think she can be commercially successful in the UK or internationally. Perhaps in Finland.

She is a competent singer and performer, but she seems to be more ready for theater than anything else.

I think she has a chance. She could do same kind of music as Sarah Brightman. I think her concerts would be great.

There will be opportunities to provide music on TV and radio..

Programmes like Michael McIntyre's Big Show, Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, The Andrew Marr Show and Later with Jools Holland.

I doubt she'll be a commercial success, but she could excel in other areas of the music industry.

Depends on your definition of success.Charting? Almost no chance other than maybe a one off short term top 10 off the back of her recent great exposure... Having a good, solid, "day job" of a singing career? Absolutely! She is the best (if not most consistent)vocalist left now in the competition, without question, regardless.

Many would be surprised to learn that an exceptional non-"famous" singer can often earn a great living, and for longer, than a charting artist ,earning as much in the long term if not more.

Matt will likely chart, but Saara will do as well as he does in the long run, even with his win and her as runner up.

I think Saara is savvy enough to know that X Factor doesn't produce consistent pop careers any more except for the odd exception here and there, and is using the show as a platform to get into a lucrative career in the west end. I think this is why she favours big musical production numbers. Alexandra Burke has forged out a successful west end career and I can see Saara following a similar path.
Ultimately, I see Saara having the most success from this year's lot even if it isn't as a pop star.

Regarding Saara's musical career she has stated in recent interview (in Finnish) that is not interested in musicaltheatre at the moment because those takes too much time and wants to try to find success with her own music.
I have wondered why she has done her albums on her own label, would though some major label would have offered her deal in Finland. Remember reading somewhere that labels had suggested that she should sing in Finnish as that is what sells in Finland.

As I listen some her songs (from her albums) in Spotify I from time to time check how many times certain songs has been streamed and has been bit suprised that there is now rise on stream numbers at all eventhough she is almost daily on newspapers.

I really hope that she finds good team around her and first decides the actual music direction she wants to go (as current epic love pop hasn't work) and then hopefully she finds her place in music business.

Musical theatre and I think that's what she's aiming for. A nice West End show.

I can see her doing very well with an album but would then turn to theatre where she would excell.

^ This. There are thousands of bands and artists in the UK alone who make their living from it but who the majority have never heard of. Independent labels are nurturing really great talent and innovating new genres all the time that become popular within a small-ish scene, and that can carry a whole decades-long career. Majors only take notice if something really explodes into the scene, until then they keep churning out copies of the previous big success.

I think winning the X factor would be more of a hindrance than a help for Saara, as I doubt Syco/Sony will be the best label for her. However, they have exclusive rights to sign all finalists though, so she may not get away from them by avoiding the top spot.

Considering she already has one including one of the character voices in Frozen, I suspect better than the rest of the contestants.

She was dubbed on the Finnish version of the film, that's all for the main character. I don't know the name but the girl.
