Hi could someone please explain what Lee was doing on his phone. Did it have any relevance to being given Jacks jacket by mistake. I'm sorry if I seem a bit thick, but, have poor eyesight and couldn't read what was on his phone. Many thanks in advance.

His bank balance on his phone went from minus £300 and something to plus £500 and something. Assumed his wages had gone in.

I think he might have taken out a loan using Ronnies house as security since he had the title deeds to it.

Thank you. I'm glad to see it's not just me who is confused. There must be something going on regarding the jacket mix up otherwise the whole thing was pointless, so, it must be that he has taken out a loan against Ronnie house.

I'm pretty sure it's not that simple to get a secured loan!

Ahhh, I didn't realise that's what he'd done! Makes sense now!

So does that mean that Ronnie will be liable if the loan isn't paid back?

Also considering property prices in London a £800 loan wouldn't be worth the effort to a loan company surely.

It's definitely not easy to get a secured loan. There would need to be signatures from both Ronnie and Roxy, and I'd be surprised if Lee can even write so couldn't forge them.

Also, it takes ages to get a loan secured on a property. A survey has to be done etc. So if Eastenders have gone down this route, they are complete ********s to think we would fall for it.

But like I said would a loan company even consider a £800 loan on a property that probably could be worth £1 Million at least?

Maybe he just needed that as proof of identity? I doubt he'd go to a reputable loan company.

I was half expecting to see the deeds being shredded by the gerbil....

At the end of the episode when his bank balance went up, did it not say on his phone it was from ELGE, the company where he works? So I think his wages have gone in. But he lied to Whitney saying he doesn't get paid till next week. The lies carry on...

A lot of nonsense in this thread about loans, it was clearly his wages went in, and then he instantly went to look up Christmas presents, the aim of the story being, he received his wages and is instantly wasting it on presents when he needs to be saving the money for other things like rent.

So why is Whitney not working, all she does is sit on her backside at home all day the lazy cow, she doesn't even do any shifts in the Vic anymore, isn't she supposed to be a fully trained child minder so why hasn't she got a job doing that?

LOL. Totally agree. They live in London, the most expensive city in the country, and yet she feels Lee should provide everything? She seems to want all these things and yet isn't willing to lift a finger to contribute! She's doing my head in grrr

Yeah, but this is soap-land where logic and reason are not the strong points. It's amazing that most of the residents in Walford can pay rent with them working mostly menial jobs.

Yep she is coming across as really selfish expecting Lee to provide for her while swans about doing as little as possible demanding her every wish to be fulfilled.

I'm not defending Whitney, but Lee should not have lied about his job from the get-go, giving Whitney the impression that he would be rolling in it and she wouldn't need to worry about money. Im sure if he was honest about his situation, she would go to work and help with the bills. I suspect his ego is getting in the way of that though, and that he's built lie upon lie since he started working and doesn't want his house of cards to come tumbling down. Whitney hasn't had an easy life so I don't see her as the spoiled & entitled type.

The deeds were in the pocket of Jacks jacket which Dot gave to Lee. That's why jack was so keen to get it back, he told Mick on the phone.

I'm sure it isnt either but it is the only thing that makes sense given what we saw, him getting monrey into his account straight after having access to the deeds.

I always find it amusing when someone says they are not doing something but then go on to do exactly what they say they are not doing.
