Well, I'm assuming that, going on every other ballroom this year, they will be able to do minimal foxtrot and loads of faffing and Ore will look fantastic as Wonka. And it's a very familiar storyline and I think recognition generally helps on musicals night, it creates positive associations. Louise has a good character that will suit her and that she can have fun with, but it is to my non-dancer ear pretty gallopy. Claudia has recognition and a good song but will they dress them as lions? Danny and the Judge have good songs, but not, in my view for the dances, and not the same familiar loved characters to play.
I will admit that last year I thought Jay was disadvantaged by having the least familiar musical and it still worked really well because it suited him, even if a lot of people hated the costumes. But I would guess that Ore, Claudia and the Judge are potentially in danger and looking at that list, Ore is safe with that song, Claudia may well be in the dance off and the Judge is even more likely than he already was to go home. |

Not this late in the competition, it's really unfair. They wouldn't give injured Laura 2 consecutive ballroom numbers in week 7, but Louise gets in week 11. Louise will do it next week because she has two dances and judges will manipulate the scoring again.
Easy to do it when there are two dances. . As for the music, Ore has by far the best of it. Danny's is much too fast (disco tango?!). Louise's is good but she has to be really carefully not to trot through it. Rinder is stuffed doing the samba either way and Claudia has a silly song for the salsa. It's popular but the salsa have all been dreadful this year (mostly down to horrible choreography). |

I just really hope they don't dress Claudia and AJ as lions, far too novelty for someone as good as she is. Save that for the Ed Balls and Mark Benton comedy acts. I was hoping after the AT last week they might continue to allow her to be a grown up, obviously not.

From what I gather the dance order is decided well in advance - celebs have spoken before about knowing what they were doing in a few weeks. Laura's dance order was known well before she hurt her ankle and frankly she just had to get on with it.

It's hardly physical though, gymnastics and dancing, both very physical but, hey, don't give any credit to Claudia.
![]() But yes, credit to all of them. |

That's 3 latins in a row now for Judge Rinder.
Sometimes the conspiracy theories write themselves on this show... |

Its also his last Latin dance I believe - he then has Waltz, Tango & Argentine Tango left I think, meaning IF he is in the semis he will have to do 2 ballroom dances!
Sometimes the conspiracy theories write themselves on this show... Think about it, though. He was just in the bottom two, so it's not out of order to think that he might be there again, and can you imagine the judges picking him over anyone that's left? So unless the voting public starts voting for him en masse, he's gone this Sunday before he can dance any of those ballroom dances. |

This weekend has Judge Rinder v Claudia; Judge Rinder eliminated written all over it to be honest. Judge Rinder has to follow on from THAT Samba and they've given Claudia a song which has been used, albeit unsuitably, for a Samba before. Going by the song they're turning them into five year olds again.
After questions about theme I'd say Ore and Joanne probably have the most suitable song - the choices for Danny & Oti and Louise & Kevin sound very fast for the respective dances. |

I just knew Louise would save one of Salsa/Samba until she had 2 dances and skip the other one, soooo predictable.
![]() Louise will dance the Salsa/ Samba (most likely Salsa) first and then dance the Tango second, that way even if she is in DO, she will dance the Tango in the DO and judges will save her. I can't see Danny being the DO or they might give Danny the Latin number as his second dance. If she had danced the Salsa this week, she would have had to dance that in the DO and more chances of her going out. In the two dances week, though she dances the Salsa, her DO dance will be a ballroom. Producers think we are mugs. |

I think JR has good music& could escape danger if he pulls the Samba off, Claudia has the worst IMO could easily result in a DO

There is no need for Robert to do 2 Latins in a row. More like being thrown under a bus. Why is Robert not dancing a Waltz or an AT??. Asked to do a Samba straight after Danny's, really cruel. |

I just realised that Robert danced a Rumba and has to dance a Samba, very unfair.

Can you honestly see him making it that long, though? Having three ballroom dances left doesn't really mean anything if they're all set in weeks after the week you know Rob is going to be tossed out on his ear.

It's not about what order you do the dances in. In Series 12 Jake did his cha cha first and his Viennese Waltz second, and reprised his cha cha in the dance-off. Likewise in Series 11 Patrick did his waltz before his paso, and then did his waltz again.

They've got to pick themselves recently (Natalie picked her 38 scoring A. Tango over her 40 scoring salsa) but I get the impression they do it in advance, so they don't know what's scored what when they set their tactics out. The listings for the semis look like there will be a dance-off, and I can't see them ditching it sadly.

I didn't realise they could pick themselves. I still think they should be forced to dance their weakest dance but I'm nasty like that.

With four left I wonder if they'll have a Dance Off for the semi finals? Presumably, if so, they'll stick to the couple dancing their highest scoring dance but personally I think they should switch to their lowest. Not that it really matters in the great scheme of things.

My point was Louise is dancing Salsa/Samba on a week where she will have ballroom as her DO dance. Louise will the dancing the Tango in the DO. If she had danced the Salsa this week she might not have survived the DO with a Salsa.
Everyone gets to skip a dance. Everyone (other than arguably Rinder, although A. Tango has been counted as both latin and ballroom before) has one ballroom and one latin for the semi final. I really don't see the problem. |

Sorry, I thought by you saying that Danny would dance his latin dance second in the semi final you felt that that mattered.

I really don't see the problem. Skipping a dance is different from dancing 2 ballroom dances in a row. This was her Latin week and she has Salsa and Samba to do. I take your point that the celebs can choose, I have my doubts, but I will take your word for it. My point was that Louise was dancing the weakest dance on a week where she will have a ballroom as her DO dance, that is a luxury and Louise will be saved, even if both couples danced ballroom. |

I also said Danny very unlikely to be in the DO. My point was Louise with her ballroom will be saved over others.

Would imagine producers picked what was done this week (several weeks ago) to fit in with musical themes more than anything else. From what you have posted think you believe that Louise has achieved something by not doing a samba or salsa - but a quickstep to a tricky piece of music my be a worse choice - it is impossible to say until the dance is seen. |
