Spotted it on local paper website. Giving out electric shocks apparently, so do not use until replaced!

It's a bit odd as this story was running back in March. Have they still been flogging new tablets with the dodgy charger?

The recall is for the same batch of power adaptors. I can only assume Amazon and the press are re-issuing the same warning as many people haven't returned their units.

Yes that makes sense.

I had the recall for some Fire Tablet 6" power supplies. It said that if you don't mail the faulty units back then just safely dispose of them.

Is it the problem where the back of the plug can be twisted off and you have to twist it and click it back into place?

IIRC the plug could theoretically come apart when you pull out the cable.

Amazon gave me a generous £12 gift voucher in compensation - can't complain as it was worth more than a new charger would have cost.

Several weeks later I received an SAE asking me to send back the faulty charger. Too late. I'd already thrown it out by then!

Do they even supply chargers any more?

I got a new one a few days ago and it just comes with a usb cable but no charger?
