Yep. Is that with or without +1?

With.

Still appalling for EE. It's nearly December, should be much higher. Shows which soap people would rather watch in a clash.

It is not must-see for the casual audience is it? I still think the jury is out until Xmas/New Year for some observers then SOC would have had enough time to deliver or not...

You know it has been said that Emmerdale have a loyal audience in terms of numbers, regardless of how enjoyable it is. It's a soap-soap less likely to attract casual viewers

It's swings and roundabouts in my view.

Emmerdale, even with its faults, is imo the best soap- its got a great audience; even the DS pages on here usually have loads of pages/posters

EastEnders normally gets 4.5m against Emmerdale when they clash. I imagine it was slightly lower last night due to Monday's ep being dented by the Martin Lewis Money Show which got over 4m - at the higher end of what programmes usually get against Corrie and EastEnders.

BIB: Surely if you watch both you'll watch the one that starts first and then stick with it? Catching up with EastEnders at your convenience. Even when EastEnders has had more going on, Emmerdale has generally come out on top in the clashes.

If the clash had been the other way round with EastEnders having the head start, i fully believe Emmerdale would STILL come out on top, maybe not by the same margin, but still on top.
EastEnders is dieing a lingering death and that makes me very sad and angry
This has been an appalling year for the BBC.

Last time EastEnders had a head start on Emmerdale it won by 2m and Emmerdale was knocked to 3.75m. Interesting logic.

It's sad to say that EE seems to be going through death throes, when it used to be the most watched programme on TV. Emmerdale has improved in leaps and bounds this past few years, and it knocks both EE and CS out of the water. I can't remember the last time I was on tenterhooks, waiting to see the next episode of EE or CS...but always Sky+ Emmerdale or I'm bound to miss something.

Emmerdale usually wins the head to heads

Emmerdale is so bad according to posters on here, yet it managed to do well with the EastEnders clash I know ratings don't always reflect quality, but I personally don't think Emmerdale is as bad as it is being made out to be. It's much better now than it was in the Summer.

It doesn't surprise me. Some of the storylines are quite tedious. The Phil transplant one for starters and the terrible laboured bins saga.

If EastEnders had started at 7 then Emmerdale would have been behind it. I enjoy both soaps so clashes just shouldn't be happening.

What about the BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub figures?

When you take those into account EastEnders would probably beat Emmerdale.

Probably likely due to EE having a more younger audience on the whole

Online viewing is taken into account as part of the BARB survey, I believe.
