EE - What are you enjoying?
thought it's time we had a more positive thread on here for a change. Now there are already many threads on here about people not enjoying it, so can we please let this be a positive one only.
Anyone who disregards this request shall be thrown in the scorpion pit ![]() I much prefer the day to day plots over sensational garbage. I think there are quite a few plots that are simmering nicely. I've enjoyed how characters such as Billy and Whitney are getting the limelight again, especially Dot, she was neglected for far too long and I like her little storyline. I really like how Martin and Stacey have become a really solid couple, I hope that continues. I'm glad they now have a proper Ho,e on the square. I like Derek and Libby's returns too, I wouldn't object to seeing them full time. |

I'm enjoying the improved characterisation and tha more normal plots. The way I see it is SOC's got quite a few plots bubbling just under the surface ready to pop. If he mixes the characters in with some good drama in the new year then I think he's on to a winner. But I guess only time will tell.

I love that we've been seeing more of Denise, Billy and Honey. They've all had some cracking scenes. Ditto Jay, although the writing for him has been all over the palace.
Love having the Fowlers in Pat's house but miss Belinda. Dot's s/l is being well done and having Patrick involved is a bonus. |

The attention to detail, with characters actually doing their jobs and stuff instead of just stood there talking.

Characters like billy finally getting development and screentime. The lee depression storyline is now being done justice. Martin and Stacey make a lovely pairing |

Scrabbler- sadly not a lot right now.
The Show needs to improve its that simple that said Steve McFadden is sublime as Phil and i like the fact that Patrick, Kathy & Jay are being used more. The show just lacks sparkle right now. Lee's downward spiral is hard to watch at times |

I'm liking how different characters are interacting with each other, like Jane and Stacey last night, and also Lee with Steven and Kush on his stag night. The show also feels more realistic and the characters feel less like caricatures and more like real people. Okay, the show is not perfect, and the pace is a bit slow right now, but hopefully Christmas delivers as should New Year. |

The characters and the conversations are becoming much more believeable and relevant recently, it's making me much more invested in them.
Plus, not being able to spot the painfully obvious storylines a mile off is a massive bonus. |

I'm enjoying the families, for example Billy and Honey's family, as well as the Sharon and Phil part of the Mitchell family, with Louise and Ben, I think they make a good unit
I like Kathy being a bit more badass, since I didn't see her character the first time around (haven't seen her in many old clips actually), I don't know if she's acting a bit more like herself? |

I got to be honest, i didnt really like the thought of Martin and Stacey when i heard about it or had a inkling that something would be there, but i think EE have done well with their build up since Stacey's health storyline etc and Martin's character and being there for Stacey, taking it all in and so on, and also Stacey finally finding that stability too. I like them as a couple

I'm enjoying Lee's depression storyline. Danny-Boy Hatchard is playing a blinder. Looking forward to seeing where it's going. Lee and Whitney have good chemistry though they are clearly doomed.
Martin and Stacey are really great together, haven't liked her with anyone romantically since Bradley so that's a turn-up for the books. Thought they were ruined after the Kush thing last year, but EE managed to pull them through it somehow. Also, I'm actually not, like, hating many characters? This time a few months ago, I genuinely disliked more characters than I liked. I feel like a lot of characters have gone back to their roots after being ridiculously sensationalised (i.e. Jane). I feel like character interaction is better. Yes, 'bingate' and the Christmas play are rubbish, but at least the characters are starting to feel like real people again who talk about real stuff, it's not all psycho murderers who face zero consequences for killing innocent people. I'm quite looking forward to seeing how Ronnie and Roxy go out. I enjoyed Masood's exit; it redeemed him a bit after a rubbish few years of characterisation (him becoming the over-35s Lothario of Walford was sooo ridiculous). Tbh, I've seen people saying this is the worst EE has ever been and stuff and I'm, like, you have clearly forgotten how bad 2012/2013 were. Even earlier this year with the Kush/Stacey/Shabnam and Gavin rubbish was much worse than it is now. People have short memories, lol. It's not very exciting at the moment, I'll grant you, but it's watchable enough for me, which is progress. |

Hi Scrabs, as I have been unusually critical of the show recently just for you I will bring some positive energy to this thread.
I think SOC has improved Kathy and has brought her back from the brink, and he has definitely improved characterisation of many out of sight, in comparison to his predecessor. I like that there has been a bit more on the Kathy/Ben relationship although I would like to see this further developed, I think he may very well do well on this. I love Stacey and Martin, their relationship, the fact that Stacey has grown up doesn't make her boring as some have been claiming, imo it's a natural and good progression of a thrilling character and with her mental illness we never know when it may return, or in what form. Martin for me has been a complete revelation under the stewardship of Martin Bye, and has become a character we can all love and sympathise with. I am enjoying having much more Jay on my screen, I just hope he is able to work the characterisation magic on him as he has Kathy, because I'm still finding the writing for him patchy and rather embarrassing at times, even if I am glad the "isolation" phase seems to be over. I agree with you Scrabs I like Derek and Libby and would not object to them returning full time. Derek was never used to his full potential considering the calibre of actor playing him. An older gay character back on the square could be so interesting with so many interesting "friends" in the waiting. Thanks for the thread Scrabs

I liked the scenes of people gossiping in the market, Roxy, Donna, Kim, Kathy, Kush etc. Lee's depression has gotten a lot more interesting recently, whereas before I was very indifferent, I am now rooting for him. Ronnie and Roxy's exit is a big mistake though.
