Booster for virgin mobile?
BinCat

My son lives in the halls of residence at his university. He has a rolling contract with Virgin, but the signal is very poor where he is. He said most of his friends there can't get much signal no matter what provider they have.

Is there something I can buy to boost his virgin signal, I've had a look online but can't seem to find much tbh.

I know Virgin Mobile uses the EE network i have heard of people in the past managing to use a EE Signal box but it cannot be guaranteed as officially it isn't supposed to work on it.

Yep I can confirm that an EE Signal box works just fine as they are open boxes as such anyone who uses the EE network (including Virgin mobile) can access the signal box if their device is within range.

I know because a family member who is on Virgin mobile uses the EE Signal box.

Oh right thanks. Is there a particular signal box that's best do you know, or are they all the same?

Have just had a look on ebay and it looks like the ones on there connect to a router, which I'm sure he hasn't got in his room, he uses the wifi for the halls of residence. He just wants a booster for his virgin mobile phone.

I don't know anything about these things tbh :/

Yeah you won't be able to use a signal box as they require a router unfortunately

Oh right, that's crap

Is there anything else that might help get a signal on a phone?
