So about the Corrie archive....

There's not a bleeding chance is there. More fool ITV.

Denying themselves revenue. Denying fans a much wanted resource. Denying the show the respect it deserves.

They released Emmerdale first, rubbish Emmerdale.

It's a terrible shame. I think i'll eventually resort to iOffer to obtain each year (no doubt a ripped VHS from a Granada Plus airing!)

Maybe we could all club together, start a GoFundMe to distribute them on DVD

Or petition ITV to release them through change.org or another online site, might not amount to anything might actually blow up?

Sounds good. I think it would snowball with enough word of mouth, then ITV will see there's demand for it and reconsider.

I remember fans were campaigning for years to get Brookside on DVD, and it was successful in the end for the 30th anniversary. Though it was a compilation of the greatest episodes, but just shows things like petitions are effective.

This might be a way forward in trying to twist Corrie's arm if anyone wants to set up, I'm sure I and other posters on here would distribute it on social media. It would need to get some traction to work though.

I could have a go setting one up. I've been wondering what title to put

'Release Coronation Street on DVD' or 'Repeat Coronation Street on ITV3' or both?

Probably something that gives them the leeway to do both.

"Make each episode of Coronation Street from original available to fans."

Then they can decide whether to repeat them or sell them.

Jean Alexander's getting a christmas special, so if that gets huge ratings it might pump them to final release them.

Nostalgic if you do set one up, be sure to link it on here.

Will do.

I've never set one of these up before, so the 'Choose a decision maker' section

Quote:
“This is the person, organisation, or group that can make a decision about your petition. Change.org will send them updates on your petition and encourage a response.”

I presume this will be ITV?

I'd guess either ITV or a company like Network Distribution or both.

I did make a new thread to promote it and keep the discussion/on-going progress.
