Carol confirms Martin is being picked on
Carol just said on itv2 extra camp that Martin is being picked on and that there is a lot we don't see. She said she liked him. That must go against the grain for the producers and presenters

That line of questioning was shut off very quickly as soon as she said that.

Why can't any of the presenters display a impartial view. Its a competition!

I loved Carol. She is clearly a very kind, intelligent person who is able to see exactly what was happening and tells it like it is.

I still stand by what I was saying about her fake laugh in the early episodes, but I guess it was just early nerves and trying a bit too hard for her own good, I definitely warmed to Carol though as the show went on and she was a classy interviewee tonight.

Joe seemed to be trying to entice her to slag Martin off but Carol wasn't having it. "I like Martin" "You did like Martin" "No, (pointing finger at Swash) I DO like "Martin"

Probably also have to suck up to those who pay their wages so toe their party line, which they seem to do with relish.

She also intimated that Larry picked on Martin. I can well believe it, and I liked Larry at the start. I thought he was so rude Martin

Carol is her own woman and was just telling the truth. After all the anti-Martin bias by producers and presenters, I would love him to win! Against all odds

The most interesting thing that Carol said before they muzzled her with a different line of questioning, is the hint that there was stuff that wasn't picked up by the cameras. Specifically regarding Martin being picked on.
She's obviously been told about the highlights and has had a whole day now to be made aware of how things were coming across on TV. It makes you wonder what was left on the cutting room floor after anti-bullying charities got in contact with the show. Martin could, and probably HAS, had a far rougher ride than what we as the viewing public have seen. |

Does anyone remember Carol sitting up in the garden telling Ola she felt sorry for Martin and said something like I sometimes wish he'd just go on and win it? It all makes sense now

Last year I actually gained a lot of my cynicism and begrudging respect for the evil in the editing of this show when Spencer Matthews left the jungle in circumstances which I still don't quite believe the "official" version of
.He was literally completely edited out of half a day's content. Not quiet, not saying one or two things, not sitting in the corner in a long shot of the camp. But quite honestly, not in a single shot. Never underestimate the power of the edit. It was literally like something out of Orwell's 1984. He had been made an unperson, and erased from existence, with nothing more than a three second "he has left the camp that's all we can disclose at this point" brush away from A&D. They can do anything in an episode. |
