Yes, I would say given her age and experience, she observed and waited. I can't believe how one man can be on the receiving end of spiteful, nasty oppressive behaviour when he's standing not far from them while they pick on him. what's sad is that he may not be aware its going on.

I don't usually dislike many people bit I cannot stand Martin and not overly keen on Larry either! I think that Martin is a massive wind up merchant and I think that this was his ploy when he went into the jungle. To wind people up and then make the public feel sorry for him to get the sympathy vote. Plus when he done his first trials he was really rude, abrupt and obnoxious to Ant and Dec, so I can see why many people would dislike Martin!

The most interesting thing that Carol said before they muzzled her with a different line of questioning, is the hint that there was stuff that wasn't picked up by the cameras. Specifically regarding Martin being picked on.
She's obviously been told about the highlights and has had a whole day now to be made aware of how things were coming across on TV. It makes you wonder what was left on the cutting room floor after anti-bullying charities got in contact with the show. Martin could, and probably HAS, had a far rougher ride than what we as the viewing public have seen. we had LF through the internet and he treated Janice as though she was sh*t on his shoes, he was most unpleasant when he thought he was safe It is shocking how they edited it that year |

Carol just said on itv2 extra camp that Martin is being picked on and that there is a lot we don't see. She said she liked him. That must go against the grain for the producers and presenters
Not that they'll pay any heed to the truth, they have an agenda which they'll follow, come hell or high water!

They were definately going to have a major bitching session about Martin, when Vicky sounded off about him Joe told her it would be discussed later. Carol put a stop to that, well done.

We need unbiased presenters on both the main show and the Extra Camp show.
I think Ant and Dec have got carried away with their popularity and think they are untouchable now. I don't watch Extra Camp because everyone on their annoys me and I just want to slap them. |

Martin was upset because he worked hard for these two stars. It was not fair to him! Winding people is one thing, bulling is other. The girls accept and like Martin. But the guys are too obnoxious , stiff and without any sense of humour especially Joel who supposed to be comidian . Sam or Scarlett to win!
Apart from Larry, who I think has allowed his feelings towards Martin to let him down, I see it as a case of them being a group who have gelled very quickly and then someone else has come along who is on such a different wavelength, it's hard to find any common ground. I realise Martin is the DS chosen one this time round but I don't get the liove He would drive me absolutely mental if I had to live with him |

Can't agree your description of the male camp mates at all. I don't see anything stiff about them and think they all seem to have a great deal of humour.

He is not the DS chosen one, he is the victim of sheer spite and people who find it uncomfortable to watch have come out in support.
He's an annoying person and some of them have had trouble hiding that fact. He seems to have no self awareness at all and I can imagine him bring extremely draining to live with with you're on a different wavelength. I find myself wishing he'd shut up just watching him for an hour a day so living with him, I wouldn't be able to hide my feelings. |

I feel a bit like Carol now in that part of me would like Martin to win. If there was more than we saw as Carol said then it really was nasty. I get that Martin is not everyone's cup of tea and he's certainly different to how I perceived him on HUTH but he didn't deserve that. Larry doesn't come across well and Ant and Dec ( particularly Ant) have gone way done in my estimations with the constant picking at Martin and the glee with which Ant did it. Carol on the other hand was much nicer than I expected and good for her for speaking up. I feel sorry for Martins wife having to witness such nastiness towards her husband. I really like Scarlett (another surprise) but would still like to see Martin win to show the bullies that that sort of behaviour doesn't pay off.

Of course he's the chosen one. It happens every year. 'Sheer spite' is rather overdramatic I think.

![]() During the fishing task, he quite clearly stated he was perfectly happy to sit in the boat fishing while Martin got wet! Yet he's now saying Martin took over!
