The spirit of the channel that just gave us some of the filthiest of Peter Cook's archive? I think it'll live!

Patrick Stewart would be an inspired choice.

If they get Aryk Nussbacher back, that would be the first trans-op on any channel I think.

Possibly... but at 76 he's even older than Richard O'Brien.

It is not the same people who loyally kept the original maze up for five years after Channel 4 inexplicably cancelled the original series.

Bit of an punt, but given how CM always worked well with somewhat quirky hosts, what about Rob Llewellyn? Great as Scrapheap Challenge host and could see him on CM.

You wouldn't want anyone with too high a profile, bit out there but I think Andy Zatzman would make a great host.

The Manchester one will be pretty grand, and has a lot more space and games than the London one.
Personally, I don't mind too much who is the host, the star of the show is the concept. |

There's a lot of ex-politicos looking for work: How about Lembit Opik, Ed Balls, Tony Blair or even Nick Griffin as host?

It would've been good if it was a cross between classic Crystal Maze & Portal 2.
Steven Merchant could've reprised his manic role from Portal 2 as the Crystal Maze host. Technically it might be difficult & expensive. |

I'd be happy with that but I think GLADOS may be a bit less nice than Mumsie. Imagine what would happen if they were locked in .They would get cake if they got to the end though.

Look, it really doesn't matter who they get to present. It is going to be utter pants, based on the venue we saw in the pilot reboot episode, tiny game rooms and rubbish games.

Sorry but Richard O'Brien made the show for me. He can't be replaced.

They shouldn't hire a celebrity to present. I think they'd do far better to get a talented British character actor. This was the problem in ITV's 'Release the Hounds', Reggie Yates added nothing and having an actor present would have worked far better and added to the whole set up imo....

So you didn't watch any of the 28 shows (exactly half O'Brien's tally) presented by his ... er ... replacement, then?
Seen him live a couple of times, he plays my local at least once a year. |

What about Joel Dommett!? Popular in the jungle, he's funny, personable and would be great!

Any future series will be made at the new Crystal Maze venue in Manchester, on the site of the former Granada Studios. It will be much more suitable for TV production compared to the London maze which is just a former office block (but still impressive given the limitations).
The new maze experience venue being built in Manchester is still primarily for the general public as with the London one. It will lack all of the character and unique look of one made specifically for TV shows, dumbed down and too small guaranteed. |
