EE: Cassandra - worst actress in the soap's history?
I always laugh when she comes on screen, it's like she thinks she is in panto or something (not just her storyline, either).
Has there been anyone worse in EastEnders history? |

She'd be considerably better if she stopped trying to do that awful accent. She was decent enough in Only Fools (and other roles for that matter) with her natural voice, so why she/the director/whoever insists on a cockney accent attempt is baffling.

Gavin was bad, a very camp and pantomime character with his looming out of the shadows and behind people, just hoping they don't bring him back,

She was the weak link in Only Fools, and she isn't much better in EE. But half of the problem is the severely obnoxious character.

Plenty. Ted Reilly, Shaheen Jafargholi, RIcky Norwood, Denise Van Outen, Khali Best, Tony Discipline, Matt Lapinskas, Kellie Shirley and Gemma McCluskie for starters.

Dexters dad and Big Mo were worse and regular characters. She is just as bad but a recurring character.

I dont know if anyone still watches it but she really reminds me of Danielle from TOWIE
Awful character though but I thought the acting was intentionally bad! |

She was shocking at times in OFAH to the point that i often wondered how she got the part, Clearly she hasn't gotten any better
See her crying scene in OFAH for some of the worst acting ever witnessed |

She's dreadful. I skip her scenes if I watch an episode she's in.

The whole storyline is a recycle of the time Pauline Fowler appeared in the panto,
even having a pretentious director who the company all turn against. As if to drive the point home, they've brought back Ian Lavender, which I find quite odd as I seem to recall that, rather like Margaret Tyzack, he was said to have hated every minute of his previous EastEnders experience - Why go through it again? I would have thought the repeat fees of 'Dad's Army' would pay all those Christmas bills. |

Lacey Gurner Turner. The worst actress by miles.
Cannot speak the most simple line without chewing her face up. And what's with this hand touching and hand wringing she's doing all the time now while speaking. She breaks every acting rule under the sun . The one who played Nancy Carter wasn't far behind in the truly terrible stakes though. |

Nobody beats Matt Lapinskas/Anthony Moon - he was the King of Terrible Acting.

When Geraldine first appeared I thought 'I recognise her but I can't place her'.
Of course, she's Gwyneth Strong and, although she's done loads of film and TV work since 1973, I think it's probably fair to say that most people will remember her in Only Fools and Horses as Rodney's love interest Cassandra. Unfortunately she's an actress for hire and as such will only do what the script and the director want her to. If she turns out to be a hugely unlikeable character it can hardly be her fault. |

I keep expecting Rodney Trotter to turn up in his yellow three-wheeler and start yelling, "Cassandraaa!"

I've just remembered Denise Van Outen's guest appearance.
More wooden than Epping Forest.

Hasn't she gone for good now? Or is that wishful thinking?

There was that annoying girl who fancied Mas and lodged with them. Plus Lily Matlock. The like of Preeti and Li were awful too.

Cassandra and Gavin are going to be the squares new power couple. They met in the 80s when Del and Rodney did bank jobs with Den, Eric and Archie Mitchell, Richard Blackwood's dad, Reg Cox, William Moon, Gavin, and Stan Carter's mate Ginger Pete.

bib I agree, & I don;t know why she had to have a cockney accent at all, there are plenty of people who live in London, who did not grow up there & do not have a cockney accent. London attracts people from all over the UK ( as well as the rest of th e world) |

This reads like something straight out of DTC's playbook!

I wonder if the writers concocted the character so we would find Kathy slightly more likeable or useful. |
