Early Kylie Minoogue albums which were in the PWL label have landed on spotfiy etc as have albums by Jason Donvan and songs such as I'd Rather Jack by The Reynold Girls, I don't think the full PWL back catalogue is avaliable yet but I guess it will be in the days to come

Good news as I did like a lot of the early Kylie songs during the PWL Label like:

Hand on Your Heart
Better the Devil You Know (My favourite Kylie song)
Shocked
Wouldn't Change a Thing
Especially for You (With Jason Donovan)
Got to Be Certain
Never Too Late
Step Back in Time

I'll listen to Kylie's stuff, but don't see myself listening to Jason Donovan

I've been surviving with an old PWl compilation which I acquired and it's only 128k so this will make my Spotify playlists sound better , well as much as you can hehe

Pete Waterman has long been vocal about royalties from streaming sites so this is a turn up for the books.

My big Eighties playlist is already a little larger:

Apple Music are showing Kylie's material that's appeared today as (P) KDB PTY Limited under exclusive licence to BMG Rights Management (UK) Ltd.

So it would appear those albums are now under copyright from Kylie (looking at Google) rather than PWL-wonder when that happened?

Interesting earlier on the labels listed were pwl now it seems to be bmg rights management, did Pete Waterman sell the rights to bmg

I would not think the type of people who stream (generally the younger generation) would be listening to much of that dross.

They have their dross to listen to at least most SAW had a tune and melody unlike most music in the current top 40 even if it's mostly the same one

I still think this is one of Kylies best songs.

poses an interesting question that does..... well for me anyway, do i prefer SAWs dross to todays dross?...

known for my dislike of watermans work, i think that despite that, i do prefer SAWs better tracks to most of todays tbh.

The only thing I really remember about SAW - apart from Rick Astley - is when they managed to fool a few DJs that Roadblock was an obscure 70s rare groove track

Spotify users aren't just teenagers

Whenever I hear that unmistakable SAW production I feel the immediate need to .. switch it off. Can't bear it, so although I do use Spotify I'll be going nowhere near that back catalogue thanks.

SAW must be one of the most divisive production acts ever... very marmite, very much love or hate.

Love for me, just for nostalgia.

Me too. Some people call them 80s classics but I just can't abide them.

i think perceptions change over time..

at the time i couldnt abide most of their output, especially after 'i should be so lucky', when they seemed to go into production line overdrive. my generation (own experience only) hated them, thought they were just a joke aimed at kiddies...

over time though, nostalgic value does kick in, and some tracks can invoke memories and this can elevate a track from utter crap to ok...

so nostalgia is a factor in judging a tracks worth, but can only be applied after time has passed.

Indeed - it's music for people who don't think very deeply.

These are among Kylie's best songs but are rarely played. Admittedly the top 10 at 10 on Imagine FM this morning had Hand On Your Heart as the no 1.

I think it's about time these albums are available to stream! Why do record company's take so long to get albums online?

I'd imagine it boils down to money and rights issues.

A few artists have refused to have their back catalogues released on Spotify etc due to the amount of royalties they earn.

Then you've artists like Prince and most, if not all, of their work is absent from legal, digital downloads etc.
