Be glad the 't' got pronounced. Too many people use a glo!!al stop nowadays We need a special le!!er for the glo!!al stop; can't keep using !! for tha!!, i!!'s too confusing. Too many peopaw also can't pronounce a finaw 'l' any more, so i!!'s not pronounced glo!!al, i!!s pronounced glo!!aw. And don't ge!! me star!!ed on 'f' instead of "th"; I 'a!!e tha!!!
And when we do get a candidate who speaks Received Pronounciation, he or she gets mobbed for 'talking posh'. |

Some of the contestants on the show have terrible grammar and pronunciation. My personal hate is "You was" and "We was" and not using "is" and "are" correctly.

Jessica's website, The Prodigal Fox, is peppered with English errors. There's a spelling or grammar mistake in practically every sentence, unforgivable in this age of spell checks.

It's been a 'corter' on the apprentice for years. Almost as annoying as people who say sicth instead of sixth. Idiots.

Thank you so much for bringing this up!
Around 5 years ago I started to notice that virtually every TV bod, including news presenters were pronouncing it 'corter', so much so that I actually questioned whether this was in fact the correct pronunciation! ![]() It makes me physically wince every time they get their lazy lips on it. ![]() STOP IT, JUST F*CKING STOP!!! <breathe> |

It annoys me too. The kestion I want answered is: does he pronounce other "qu..." words like that, or does he revert to the Keen's English? Perhaps I'm kibbling.

I also wondered whether I'd been pronouncing it wrong all these years!Anyone remember Angela Rippon's somewhat eccentric pronunciation of guerrillas? Apparently it was to distinguish it from gorillas... |
