I am honoured to start this thread.

Welcome to the Tenth annual Christmas Radio Times Countdown Thread (incorporating Christmas TV)

If your a lurker or have never posted before , why not join us in our debates - we ALL have an opinion on Christmas TV past, present and future.

What would you like to see on TV this Christmas?.

Although Radio Times is in the title of the thread we dont confine ourselves just to that magazine , we do discuss all the listing mags but it seems only the RT amazes or irritates us with the choice of cover (the others have Santa in some form or soap stars)

If you read in the press or on social media about any new Christmas TV programme then let us know and keep up to date with the fabulous archive of http://ukchristmastv.weebly.com run by our own Claires_dad or follow him on twitter @UKChristmasTV

Why not post your fantasy schedule

Join for our quizzes and competitions

So Happy Christmas and New Year 2017 to you all and look forward to another lively year on the thread

Finally my thanks to Clares Dad for allowing me the honour of starting this thread

Excellent. A proper way to start the annual thread! Well done ADP!

Ten years of the Countdown thread is an achievement in itself! Last year's 2016 thread was a record breaker! More posts and pages than ever before! More people entered my Quiz than ever before! And,the cover competition found a new Thread regular become a new champion!

Once again, Congratulations ADP, and bravo to you for starting this thread quickly so that it becomes a natural successor to the 2016 one, and without an irritating poll! Good job well done!

Well done A.O.P.

Lets hope 2017 is a much better year than 2016, has been it has been utterly dire, from the Deaths of David Bowie and Terry Wogan in January, to the sad passing of Andrew Sachs today.

I have mentioned on the 2016 Thread, but maybe before this thread truely gets going, maybe we could have a go at looking back, through threaders eyes, of the past 10 years

Great idea jazzy! The thread can be about anything you want - as long as it's within context.

I'm surprised people still use schemes like this after the Christmas hamper scheme a few years back that went under....

I'm guessing the BBC will get Inside Out next year, and might premiere it on Christmas Day?

Captain America Civil War ?
BBC should have that Winter 2018.

ITV may have Spectre for Christmas depending on how quickly they get it in their contract.

Jurassic World I think Channel 4 will get as it's Universal.

But then Minions and Despicable Me are both Universal and ITV both got them so I've no idea how that works!

I think the BBC have Maleficent.

The film contracts are so confusing!

Don't Forget to Put August 21st in your diaries!

The Radio Times might have a bumper Christmas Double issue!

From next year the Quizmas Challenge has a bumper double too! As both myself and marke09 will jointly be running it for the first time! More confirmations and details will obviously be posted from the New Year onwards.

Before that though, if you like anagrams, the Easter Anagram Eggstravaganza will be trialled next April. And, there's a prize.
