I've just set up a petition to get ITV to make each episode of Corrie available from the start. Be it on DVD or ITV3.

I've set this up on behalf of my fellow DS'ers as this is a team effort

Please share, retweet, email this with as many people as you can, and lets make this a reality!

Could you not add to yesterdays thread on this subject or even the day before's thread?

http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2191931

How many corrie needs to release the archives threads have been started this year? Google says about 330 😁

I won't be signing as it is pointless and why is the petition in the name of digital spy forums?

Well it's likely that more people will sign the petition if it's on the first post of a new thread. Those threads were discussions.. this one is action!

I didn't want to add my own name, it was Corrie_Fan who suggested the petition idea on the other thread, so felt right that it was a team effort. Plus i know many people on here have been discussing it and want it to happen. So this is on behalf of all of us

The post had 8 replies most of which were discussing setting up the petition?

I look forward to reading the daily thread that is posted each day to update us with progress

If you set it up here instead, once it gets to 10'000 signatures it gets discussed in parliament

I'm not sure why Nostalgic chose to use the forums name for the petitions, you need to take that down and use a real name immediately, unless you've actually asked for digitalspy's permission that's not a good idea and is potentially a breach of a copyrighted trademark.

The main reason I didn't want to start the petition was having to use my own name and link it to my account!

With respect, from the previous threads on this forum there is much more widespread support for releasing the archives, it's something many fans clearly want.

Not necessarily to DVD, but too be available in some. Whether that's through online streaming such as Netflix or Amazon Prime, a rerun of the episodes on television uploading them to a YouTube channel, or on DVD is moot. We just expect them to make the entire archive, at least up to a reasonably recent period, say 2010 - available to the public. Eventually the idea that if and when the show ends, the entire show is available for us to watch.

Yeah i thought this wasn't the cleverest of ideas. I've changed it now, though concealed my first name with an initial to retain some form of anonymity

Don't be silly. Of course they won't release all 9000 episodes on DVD, even at once. It just wouldn't be economically viable. But over a long period of time, the golden age should be at least made available. It all depends on sales. But just one of many ways, as Corrie Fan mentioned they could distribute them.

I think yearly boxsets of 102 episodes (until 1989) is perfectly do-able

I agree and then after that it could be broken down into quarterly or six monthly box sets.

A handful of fans on here isn't representative of the Corrie viewers as a whole though.

This will never happen. The amount of capital required to fund this will far outweigh any potenial revenue earned.

I think you're being over pessimistic.

There is no commercial demand for it.

It seems the stazi missed one. Yay.

How is it even fair for the moderators this forum to close every thread made on a subject, just because a few people don't like the discussion. Immature gerrymandering.

The issue of releasing the archives is a moral quandry of our time, whether television counts as a historical asset or throwaway rubbish? I believe it's the former, and CS is foremost among historical assets.

We wouldn't have to close them all if you only made one thread and not six. Thanks for bumping this to remind us though!
