EE Love the community feel

I really wish that Coronation street would do more community things like Eastenders ladies night as I can't remember the last time Corrie women hung out like that

I absolutely love scenes like we had in the Vic tonight, the women all sat round, drinking and having a laugh. More of them please!

It was all contrived and scripted

Well of course it was - due to the fact that it's not real? I'm slightly confused by this comment...

Anyway, completely agree OP, loved those scenes - in fact, I loved the entire episode. The show these days feels so 'real' and I for one am really enjoying this new direction. When something happens to the characters, you actually feel more for them, taking tonight as an example. If the show had sensationalist crap all the time would we actually care as much about what happened to the characters?

It was gripping stuff.

It was a good idea but I didn't like the dialogue. And it felt like it had no reason for happening. Some good funny bits though.

So do I. While Drama has lack the feel of the community has been good. Tonights wpisodes got it right with the balance and hopefully that will continue next week

I usually hate ladies night but that one was great fun. The way the conversation was jumping all over the place as it does when you get a load of drunks together. The Shirley and 'Brenda' exchanges were a hoot, Kathy sitting hugging her sign and Action Man figure being eyed up at the bar. Jane getting chatted up afterwards was a nice touch, she even managed a joke.

I think they over emphasised that it was ladies night when basically they were just having a drink in the vic like they normally do. It's not as if no men were allowed in the vic too

But yeah I liked the banter, although it did feel a little force at times I did laugh once or twice. Mainly at Shirley's oneliners

Exactly!

Sulla is known for trolling the EE threads, criticising & spouting his "opinion" as if it matters more than anyone elses!
