That was really shocking, wasn't expecting that at all but was Lee involved? as he wanted Whitney out of the pub and looked shifty.

There's nothing shocking about Mick Carter being deeply, deeply stupid.

Isn't that how the show should be? Throw in the shocks when you least expect them?

Yeah I'm wondering if that bloke that bullies him at work has said Lee owes him something in return for his silence. He knows Lee is lying to his wife about his job etc. Maybe Lee has come up with a plan saying him and some mates can stage a robbery at the pub, he can get so much % of the money and in return the blokes silence. He hid the blokes wallet, was that because it was the bloke who greeted Whitney outside the call centre. He knew Whitney would remember his face from his ID.

Really enjoyed that ending. It wasn't too over-the-top it was realistic not like other break-ins where it is like a riot....(2008)

It can't be dramatic all the time. We learnt from DTC it ends up bad.

Yes, this is what some of us have been saying about how it's important that you care about the characters as it makes things like this so much more hard-hitting when they come along.

Too much of this stuff and the audience becomes desensitized to it, the latter halves of DTC's EastEnders and Kate Oates' Emmerdale are two recent examples of that.

I think there should have been a warning before the episode, as they were having a lovely time up until that, and I'll be mentioning it in my letters to BBC, SOC and Ofcom. My heart is still pounding and I've had a cup of tea and sip of brandy. No need for that sort of thing before 10pm.

Exactly.

I was loving the episode anyway with the women getting drunk which felt so resl and then they throw that curve ball.

I think..SOC is doing excellent work. Mostly every day, 'mundane' stuff with all it's highs and lows and then something totally unexpected which could be life changing. That is true EE.
