During his interview you could tell by his face that he hadn't realised how much people were bitching behind his back.
For heaven's sake - everyone (or at least all the men) in the camp felt exactly the same way about Martin. Are they all wrong? The fact that Martin hadn't realised the effect he had on people indicates that he really needs to brush up on his social skills, which is what they were all complaining about anyway.

Wayne seemed like a delightful person - and certainly not deserving of being called "vile".
Shame on you.

Joel got along with Martin the rest of the "men" followed larry the lamb like little sheep
wayne had the personality of a wet lettuce shame on you for not noticing
so if anybody is ostracised or belittled in your world its because they deserve it , this show has shown us that men can bully and bitch just as much as girls

Another snake...then again, the fact they love Larry shows how they're birds of a feather...
Noticed too, what a sad desperate man to stoop this low to try and be funny or win, and as you say the Larry camp have been flattered by the old fool and fell for what charms or fakery they found in him, I didnt.

All the girls outshone them, each one was in their own way a much more decent person than most of the men.

They clung to Larry who had no social skills at all except to flatter the younger ones to gain his leadership status, Larry has been a control freak all his life and saw Martin as one who didnt fit in his clique, then he gave them all his sad story about wanting to see his long lost daughter , who he only saw once when she was a baby, easy for him now and older man to want more affection like the camp.. a wee bit about the lovely Larry I read, makes you wonder why the girl maybe doesnt want anything to do with the man.

Larry had met first wife Anita when he was 20, and the pair fell pregnant following a Christmas reunion.
Although Larry is said to have wanted an abortion, they decided to have the child and married when he was just 21 and working in Germany

Not being a footie fan, I'd never heard of him before, so I can only assume he had a big fan base before this to get as far as he did.
He did come across as two-faced, I agree, but my biggest gripe with him was the fact that he was sometimes filmed pulling on a fag. For a sportsman, he was a very poor role model.

'Vile' is a bit strong, is it not? In past camps what he said would have been very mild, when there was plenty of real vile behaviour going on. Calling the viewers 'oiks' was a million times more offensive, for example. So Wayne doesn't particularly like Martin, or at least finds him annoying at times. Does that make him vile?

Let's face it ... he's fecking plug ugly as well!
And this is such a pleasant thing to say and not in the least 'vile'. You do know he can't actually help how he looks (not that I think he is particularly ugly either).

I normally enjoy DS as an accompany to reality shows but this time round it has been a little too much for me. The sainthood of Martin (by people, who ironically, don't really mind being particularly horrible about other camp mates) the condemnation of Scarlett for something that is largely outwith her control and the general nastiness shown towards most of the campmates. Reading back the thread there does seem to a quite a bit of 'pack mentality' going on here too.

In general, they were all a pretty decent bunch of campmates who got on well with each other, but none of them were perfect, they all have the same defects of character the rest of us have - it is what makes us human. (Please don't say that you would never behave towards someone they way they behaved towards Martin, if you have been even slightly unpleasant about, Adam, Joel, Scarlett etc).

Well said, I couldn't agree more.

Oh poor Martin was bullied by 'vile' Wayne!

They were in there 24/7 and we see a few highlights.

We should ask ourselves why they all preferred Larry.
Maybe we should ask ourselves why the former Mrs Bridge preferred a large slice of JT.

Only Jordan didn't join in on the bitching. Yes Wayne is vile and shame on you for condoning childish, belittling, alienating behaviour.

I noticed how Wayne was bitching to two faced Adam about how Martin was acting up during the This Morning thing, neither of them said that when Martin was the only one to share his treat with them.

Well said. The disgusting posts directed at any campmate who dared to look sideways at precious Martin have been far, far worse than anything said to Martin in there.

Yes, I can assure you, at 45 years of age, I would NEVER ostracise and socially exclude another human being, unless they'd committed a horrendous act but that's because I've mentally progressed.

Have you never written a derogatory comment about a celeb on here in this room or any other? If you can hand on heart say no, I will applaud you.

Ooo, you can't say that. I got a a right old bitch-fest tirade heaped upon me in another thread for questioning how these massively overpaid, not very good looking footballers managed to get these gorgeous women.

I'm sure I have but once is usually enough. I don't need to repeat myself several times a day and I certainly don't throw words like vile and evil about. I can condemn a certain a action and yet see that that person is not bad through and through.

I usually enjoy this forum but this year it's been an unpleasnt place to be because of a handful of Martin fans.

IMO they have been a great bunch in there this year. Flawed for sure, but then who can hold their hand up and say that they're not.
