At first i thought he was really annoying and the way he got peoples nerves with his David Brent antics. But i started to see a person who was actually a funny campmate and a great character

I had never heard of him before, but when I saw how he was being ostracised in the camp, I had to back him. I never saw anything annoying in him either.
To be honest, I don't think he could have won - he just wasn't the crass IACGMOOH winner type. |

Martin did really well to get as far as he has and his unexpected popularity probably put the wind up Production who had already decided on the final 3, so no, Martin never stood a chance of winning. I'm expecting the final 2 to be Adam & Scarlett, with Scarlett taking the crown.

Going to miss him without a doubt which is a surprise given how annoying I found him at the start. In regards to could he have won probably not even if he had survived tonight. Showed dignity in his exit interview and hopefully the man will enjoy the time in luxury with family. At least he beat Larry.
Easily the star of this years show and probably my favourite ever campmate although I'm far from a religious viewer of the show. |

Exactly same answer for me
I know nothing of his history but getting picked last at school, for a sporting event, when you have asthma is not exactly unusual. I'll add to that thought, that he is much healthier now. Live and learn Martin. |

Me too. I saw him as passive/aggressive but in a really quiet way. I didn't like him bringing up his childhood 'bullying' which just sounded like sour grapes.

Martin became my favourite, but no I don't think he could have won it, and he probably went at about the right time, doing so well to finish that high in the order, and Martin beating Larry was such a plus
Well done to Martin, to get that far he will know he is well liked

Maybe you've never experienced bullying yourself, which is great for you, but in that case, you won't understand how it has an effect on you all through your life.
However, I did recognise that I had my own strengths. I wasn't sporty, I wasn't intelligent, I wasn't academic. I was a good person and I hope that the fiends I still have from those days would agree. Not every comment about how much someone annoys you is bullying. |

He's got nothing to learn from ppl who are beneath him.
Martin said he used but didn't need his inhaler because his diet had improved. That's what he learned

I made a really good friend in work and we talked about the way bullying has affected both us and the boyfriend she was seeing at the time and how it has seeped into our adult lives. It is MASSIVE. And this isn't temporary bullying. It goes on for many years and it leaves its mark. I think some people are more resilient but it takes a long time for the more sensitive of us to get over it. And that's probably why we were bullied in the first place - vulnerable and easy to bring down. |

No, I won't miss him. Martin is the kind of person I would hate to be stuck in a lift with, or on a long journey, or at a dinner party or a works night out. And no, he couldn't have won, since not enough people voted for him.

I will miss him. He made the camp more interesting to me.
I don't think he could have won it as he was too polarising. |

I liked him.
But historically characters who stand out on this show frequently fail to get into the top 4, let alone win. He's in good company, David Gest only finished 6th, just like Martin, and everyone at the time thought he was going to win. There are others too. They tend to finish in 5th or 6th place and the winner of IAC is almost always bland. IAC seems to be a reality show where voters tend to vote for the blandest celebrities who don't show much of an individual character. I don't really know why. It's been the same for as long as I can remember. |
