Daily Politics boils over as Andrew Neil rages at Tim Farron
http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/739...Lib-Dem-block-
"The Liberal Democrat leader was called out by a furious Neil over the suggestion he was clueless about the EU referendum." "Cutting him off, Neil interjected: "You've mentioned him, stick with the issues. It's your position I'm here to interrogate, not Mr Phillips'." However as Mr Farron once again deflected the issue and accused the host of making assumptions about voters' intentions, Neil thundered: "No, no I’m not and don’t misrepresent me!" |

Neil is acting like a lot of brexiteers angry and intolerant and lashing out at anyone who dares speak sense about our place in the EU. I find it delightful. Looking forward to Nigel "you're not laughing anymore" Farage exploding with rage soon.

Very much doubt that will happen.
I think the Lib Dems will find themselves out on a limb again very soon. |

Farron is an odious little pipsqueak.
There are little hotbeds of yellow support dotted around the country, though. Must be something in the water. |

The wind is with them. I thought Farron was taking spectacular risks in the aftermath of the referendum with his views and vowing to fight on. But it appears he's onto a winner and even I would vote for a lib dem if they stood against our brexiteer Tory MP on a remain in the EU message. I have voted conservative my entire life, but I would sacrifice that badge of honour in a heartbeat if it helps stop brexit.

We'll see. I've never been more optimistic than I am today about our chances. Richmond was a huge stunning upset and will have sent shockwaves through parliament.
It will be a talking point but mainly because Labour lost it's deposit and they don't seem to care. So no shock waves in Parliament only in the Labour Party |

Every time I see or hear Farron he is angry and argumentative. Just because he didn't get the result in the referendum that he wanted, he keeps spitting his dummy out.

I vowed never to vote lib dem again after the tutition fees row. But if there was a by-election tomorrow i would break that vow to show my displeasure at brexit.
I would normally vote labour, but i live in a very safe tory seat which no one else has any chance of winning, but lib dems tend to come second. Maybe if enough tory voters swiched alligence as well...? Our MP is very vocally pro-brexit. |

Heartley-Brewer takes Olney to task in this interview and gets cut off by Olneys PR officer.
http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/739...Hartley-Brewer It's funny when questioned democracy is a two way street and the liberals don't like it. |

Exactly if enough of us switch our votes to the remain candidate we will kill brexit forever. The situation is very similar where I am - Tories usually win but the Libs always come second. I know a lot of Tory friends here who say they will back remain candidates to stop brexit.

I find him refreshing and impartial as an interviewer and one that looks to get an answer to the questions instead of the drivel, he will also point out the hypocrisy and outright inaccuracies and lies from those he is interviewing. |

He hardly 'raged' at him. The Express making a mountain out of a molehill there. Farron was avoiding questions and Neil was forcing him to answer them.

Strange conclusion to draw from this admittedly unfortunate episode.
It's all or nothing with democracy you can't have anything in between. |

And it's too late to do anything about it now, A50 will have been triggered and we'll be out or on our way out of the EU before you can even think about voting your white knights back into Parliament. |

If you think thats raging you should wait and see the daily politics when the people who don't want a referendum on terms realise the government just negotiated terms they didn't want and now they're stuck with a worse situation than they started with.

Nothing strange about it, liberals are proposing another referendum on the terms of the exit......if we don't like them w stay as we are.....which completely goes against the first referendum. Heartley-Brewer makes the point that Olney had less than 50% of the vote, Richmond Park should be allowed a second election to validate that result.

I don't agree with the Lib Dems on having a referendum on the terms of the exit, but if it happened it would still be an exercise in democracy. And I think JHB was silly to compare a by-election vote with a national referendum. Completely different things.
