Straight from the horses mouth ... Quote:
There seems to be a determination for Brexit to be resisted, by an ideological refusal to recognise the advantages of leaving the Single Market and the Customs Union.

You do realise that you are posting in the Politics Forum? Not Chatter. The position of James McGrory is what Leave campaigners were saying before the Referendum and how it contrasts with what they are saying now. Maybe you and Andrew Neil should both watch his video. That was the whole point. Of Everything. ![]() Your link is dated......this week.

My best guess is that they grew bored talking to a brick wall.

I wonder if we'll finally get links to those dozen (at least) opinion polls.

I have to laugh at Tim and his ilk when talking about the referendum.
First up, it was always deemed a topic that the British public weren't actually interested in. A small trivial matter that was splitting the Tories and only the pantomine evil Nigel Farage was going on about. Then the referendum was announced and suddenly it was 'oh my god, people are interested in this' and the call was given to promote an endless slew of apocalypse and armageddon fears. From being non existent and disinterested, Brexiteers were now labelled as racists and swivel eyed loons. Then god forbid the people voted in favour of leaving against all the evidence and guidance from the experts and they were all branded gullible and naive for swallowing all of the leave lies. Apparently very few of them knew what they were voting for. And now that this tack isn't working, it would seem that the side that was against leaving knows exactly what it was that the Leavers actually voted for (even though they had previously said that they didn't). Seemingly Tim now suddenly has the vision of how millions of leavers didn't vote for a hard brexit but purely for his vision of Leave . So at one point they were insignificant, then they were immigrant hating racists, then they were gullible fools not knowing what they were voting for and now Tim understands their motivations and cause because even though he campaigned for the very opposite to what they voted, only he knows exactly what it was that they want. What staggering insight... |

I re-joined the LibDems after leaving 10 years ago. They cannot cope with processing the volume of new members.
They had 1,000 activists in Richmond on the final weekend. |
