This is seriously bugging me. She is still married to Charlie? And even if the divorce happened off screen I find it hard to believe that Charlie would let Ronnie know where he even was now for it to happen?

They were in contact through Vincent. That was back in 2015 so I'm fairy certain that both would agree to sign a form to divorce.

Charlie spoke to Roxy after he left to reassure he was OK and I think he's still supposed to be in touch with Dot. He wouldn't need to go to court for them to divorce and Ronnie wouldn't find out where he was (if he was worried about that).

It would be easy for Ronnie and Charlie to get an undefended divorce, one of them just has to petition the court for example;

Ronnie instructs her solicitor to start divorce proceedings because she and Charlie have agreed to her having custody of Matthew and that Charlie has no claim on Ronnie's assets. In return, Ronnie is asking for a divorce on the grounds of her adultery with Vincent (the fact Charlie cheated with Roxy will not be mentioned). Charlie signs the forms to confirm he's not contesting the divorce and posts them back to the court. When they're received, Ronnie's solicitor gets a copy and completes the forms asking for a Decree Nisi to be issued by the court. A copy of the decree is sent to both Ronnie and Charlie, six weeks later Ronnie's solicitor asks for the Decree Absolute and the divorce is final on it's receipt.

As Charlie, in the example, has not contested the divorce neither he nor Ronnie would need to prove her adultery, it simply being stated in the paperwork is enough as it's only when once party contests the allegation of adultery that it needs to be proved.

Ronnie forcing him out of Dot Matthew's life still disgusts me.

All that makes sense but I still think it's important to be mentioned on screen. Also I don't really think he had much say in her having Matthew. He did come back to try and sort something but she got Vincent to do her dirty work and he vanished. It's just stupid writing because if he supposedly is still in contact with Dot then surely she would be asking why he doesn't see his son?


Yea I know right. She didn't give a stuff about Matthew for months and now her and Jack both act like they are parents of the year.

Hopefully if Ronnie dies Matthew will be back with his dad
