I know, it is also home to the majority of German expats living in London. Magically that mirrors the rest of the country.

If an MP is elected s/he has responsibilities to all constituents, not just those that voted for him/her. If an MP gets elected by telling a pack of lies or makes false promises the voters get the chance to ditch him or her and change course at the next election. Right, let's apply that to Brexit.

This result was not the one that should have happened. We need to have another by-election and then hopefully we'll get the result we wanted. There has been a rise in hate crime since Sarah Olney was elected. A future without Zac Goldsmith will be an absolute disaster for our country. There is already a petition underway for a second by-election. This one was only advisory!
2. It was a legally binding election, not a referendum to view people's opinions. 3. By-election? There'll be a whole ruddy big-ass general election where the preople of Richmond can vote again! 4. A rise in hate crime you say? No there actually hasn't, so you've just lied. Not unexpected from a Brexiter. 5. Why would the future be a disaster without Zac Goldsmith? Evidence is probably the key requirement here, rather than more bs. 6. Feel free to petition. What do you want? A soft Goldsmith or a hard Goldsmith? 7. Do you see how your rant not only comes across as a bit silly and without substance, but also shows a really lack of insight into the political processes. |

I can't see how Zac Goldsmith being an MP is imperative to the future of our country.
Are you sure you're feeling well? Or is this a feeble wind-up by someone with amoeba-style intelligence? |

1. Obviously it was the one the people of Richmond wanted, so is the right result.

The big story about Richmond is Labour's vote down by 8% and the candidate losing his deposit
First time since 1909 apparently. Which party is going to put up a serious challenge to the Conservatives for the next government? Certainly not Labour Labour,s vote went down by 8% due to tactical voting to get the Tories out. |

The post you replied to was a pee take but it obviously went right over your head.
It was just so banal, inept and so full of holes that a six year old would have been embarrassed by it! |

It's early days yet, but the story of this election might just be that tactical voting is back - the unravelling of which was a feature of 2015.

What a ridiculous post. There is a world of difference between a permanent result and one that can be changed within five years at least. Another attempt by a Brexiteer to 'do a Remainer' on it and failing spectacularly.

Has it ever gone away mate? I always vote tactically...and we need more of it. It's Remain parties (Plaid, Green, Labour, Lib Dem, SNP) vs the Leave parties (OoKip/Tory). All Remainers need to back the Remain candidate in order to unseat the Leaver.

Remainers are beating up Braxiters all over the country and they keep making nasty comments about Leavers being thick and racist. |

Also she never put 'I will vote against A50' on the side of a bus so it can't be true that she said it.
