Anyone else notice that Skinner mysteriously disappeared from his Absolute show this morning from 10-11am? Emily and Alun had to cover for an hour. Where did he go???

I'm sure that if you ask him nicely, he will give you full details of all of his movements.
Why on earth do you need to know?

I just found it strange. Surely Emily and Alun knew where he had gone, but wouldn't reveal for some reason.

One the one hand it must have been something serious for him to just take off, but on the other hand it couldn't have been so serious (i.e. some sort of medical emergency involving his son) that Alun and Emily felt it would be inappropriate to be completely frivolous about the whole situation.

How can it be voice-tracked when the show is three hours of responding to emails and texts?

On the rare occasion it's pre-recorded they make it clear that people should not email or text.

I assumed it was just a previous engagement that he needed to get to. It was quite a funny way of doing it but I didn't consider that anything serious might have happened.

Someone made a comment online about a wrong hour being played/repeated so it might have just been human error.

That maybe the case for the decade stations, I have no idea but I was listening live on AM and yes, he really did only do the first two hours. Alun and Emily just carried on without him!

Maybe they thought nobody would notice? I'm sure Frank's got Christmas shopping to do like the rest of us!

Considering they repeatedly mentioned he'd "gone missing" I doubt it.

But I have never heard him leave early in over 5 years of listening and West Brom play at home every other weekend.

Why don't you drop him a line Paul, if you're so concerned?

The chances are he'll tell us all about it next week, unless it was something private or personal.

Is this show still delayed by an hour for broadcast on the Absolute 60s/70s/80s... stations?

Never got that, why dont they just utilise the same technology that is used for the weekday breakfast show and have them on all the stations at the same time?
