Live on my own.
Work shifts.
Go to Church.

Tree just messes up the flat. Might put out some ornaments, snow globes, lights. But tree....no point.
Makes me smile my non church going friends make more of a fuss over trees, and put a tree up mid November.
Guess as a Christian I think Christmas is looking more disconnected from Christ as I get older.

I had good intentions of putting ours up today and start my Christmas shopping, was going to get all my ironing done but I've ended up on the couch most of the day with a hangover. I'll see what I'm like tomorrow.

This weekend just feels a bit too early for me - next weekend seems right.
Nope, not bothering, no point.

A Fairy was continually nagging Santa about the tree.

Santa eventually lost his temper and told her to stick the tree.

So that's why we have Fairies on top of them.

Going up to mums Thursday to help with the decorations She's feeling really down at the moment and didn't want to do Christmas so I have to go and help with the Christmas cheer. Although she'll drive me crazy with her P.O.P.D (perfect ornament placement disorder).

Ha ha. Didn't get to my tree either but no more ironing for me until next year. Life's a series of odd trade-offs this time of year.

Even if I celebrated Christmas, which I don't, most of it I will be working and it is only me that live here and the cat, so who is going to see it?
The only extra day I am having off is Christmas day and i would work then if they wanted me to, have the day off on an other day that is more useful.

I am suppose to be going to my brothers and sister-in laws for Christmas dinner, but to be honest I do not mind staying home and having sausage and mash.

I passed my last exam for my AAT level 3 qualification yesterday afternoon. I came home, hubby was there ready with a celebratory drink and the tree ready to decorate. Now it's complete I can enjoy Christmas, it's been a stressful year with these exams

Thanks for that, the one set of lights on my tree are not working any more, so MrKat can take me to Tesco tomorrow!

I'm not putting one up as I'm going away before 12th night so can't take it down. I'm allergic to the tree anyway so it'll be good to have a year off. Last year my arms didn't get back to normal until February after the tree made contact with my skin carrying it home.

I like real trees but am too worried about needle fall to get a tree too early. Nothing worse than being left with bald twigs by Christmas Day. Last year I got a little 3 foot one in a pot and planted it in my garden afterwards. Still looking for something similar for this year.

As GDJ said, Tesco have got some great potted trees for £20. Ours looks fab!🎄

You've told us this every year for years, make a note, no need to bang the same gong in 50 weeks time.

As you don't want family time over Christmas, why not look for some voluntary work on Christmas day, help your fellow man (and woman)? That said, people need cheer this time of the year so look for work where you don't have to work face to face with the needy. https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/adv...d/volunteering
