Coronation Street exit (Spoiler)
Looks like Andy (Oliver Farnworth) is leaving the show. Such a shame as he was really underdeveloped.

shame if he was axed. he wasn't as much deadwood as other characters by less gifted actors/actresses on the show that deserve to go.

He hasn't really worked out when the reveal that Michael's real son had died, it kind of made him redundant as a character. He never really had a big storyline other than that and now Michael is dead, I guess he's surplus to requirements.

One of these days I'll read a thread like this and Sean Tully or Izzy will be going.

Such a shame, I can only hope his last few weeks will show how much of a brilliant actor Oliver is.

Shame it's not any of the real deadwood who are going.
I would love to see the back of Michelle, Sean and Fiz. |

Michael, Andy, Caz and Sharif all gone. That's a start and was inevitable with all the recent returns. Next will hopefully be Sinead, Alya and Izzy.
Daniel is going to hook up with Steph. |

Such a shame. Andy had the potential to be a good character and was played by a talented actor.
Another Corrie waste. |

Why did they dispense with Andy, who was a good player on the show, instead of Not Very Reverend Billy, Faye and Johnny?

This is too bad. I really ended up liking Andy and its just really too bad they didn't give him more of a role. I can see why the immediate thought would be that without Michael, he has no real connection or purpose on the street, but they've kept lots of other characters like this in the past (tedious Eva for example). Instead its like they gave up on him and let him fade into the background. Really unfortunate.

The character ran out of steam as soon as we had the ridiculous NotGavin reveal. A shame as he's a good actor who could have offered something more than eye candy. Wasted opportunity.

The minute Andy started developing son-father feelings for Michael both SB and KO warehoused him. From an interesting character (albeit in one of the most farfetched storylines in Corrie history) the producers turned him into just another bland wallflower accomplishing not much of anything but looking harried behind the bar and running off to the flat to poke Steph. He had tremendous potential but it was all just frittered away.

Sadly Oliver Farnsworth has become a victim of lazy writing. He us joining the ranks of other extremely talented actors like Rachel Leskovac, Karen Henthorn and Wanda Ouplinda who were dispensed with far before their time on Corrie. I am gutted that Andy us leaving. He was never really given any big storylines, but he brought a refreshing sense of normalcy in his time on the show

The actor is very handsome but only ever has one facial expression. Is Andy shocked/angry/worried/happy/surprised? Who knows.
No great loss. |

Underused, the guy is a good actor and if given the material could have been a great character. Shame they stuck him with boring Steph, and gave him a random plot about writing.
