It isn't about being offended (I wasn't). It is about thinking and caring about other people, and knowing that if something might really upset them for personal and private reasons (not just being offended for the sake of it) it might be wiser just to not bother doing it in that case. Other shows you expect and sometimes look for that sort of thing in - it just wasn't a norm for Ant and Dec I think, and that's why it felt a bit uncomfortable.

Well said Karly. I think that sums it up pretty well. I'm from the older generation and that's probably why I found it insensitive.

Good for you for caring. Ignore those having a pop at you, they are the ones with the problem 😉

I don't think anyone is having a pop at anyone. Everyone is entitled to their opinion - that's what DS is for. Just putting in my two penny worth.

Why?

It never even crossed my mind until I started reading this thread and even then I was thinking what IS the OP on about.
Offended or not Dec and ant are still immature prats

It didn't offend me as such, but I did think it was in poor taste.

I was neither offended, nor did I care.

Like you, I wasn't personally offended but It was a lazy and thoughtless choice. There are so many other immediately recognisable 'sad' songs they could have picked to take the pee out of the campmates.

Well said, this is pretty much how I felt about it too.

It is played to remember the war dead, not for the eviction of a reality TV contestant. Highly inappropriate.
It's actually got nothing to do with Remembrance Day.... it's one of the very old bugle calls used to signify the end of the day/ lights out for the military, it's played over the tannoy at some (training) establishments along with Reveille to wake everyone up... - - it's like the US military use "taps" there are many different calls used to tell soldiers sailors when it's time to go to bed, get up, go and eat, advance, retreat etc from the days before tannoy - the bugle notes carried a long way and were unambiguous

But I do agree, given what it used for most these days, it was inappropriate....

Inappropriate I can agree with. It's the OTT "Sickening, disgusting and outraged" comments that annoy me. Get some perspective.
