And furthermore may well win.

With all the experience that Sugar, Karren and Claude have I am amazed that they have not seen through him because he is nothing more than a poser - and not even good at that imo !

Courtney is still in the process for the fairly mundane reason that his team -- Titans -- nearly always wins. Courtney has never been in the final boardroom.

If you keep winning you can't be fired.

And, seemingly, if you're Francis, and keep losing, you can't be fired either.

The week before last Courtney looked half asleep, and was clearly running out of steam. If he loses this week he should be gone.

Out of interest, how many times has the project manager been fired this year? It feels like 9 out of 9, but there must have been one or two weeks when that wasn't the case?

While Frances has been on the losing side an embarrassing number of times, I don't think she was generally responsible for those losses. And the fact that she's only been in the boardroom once (last week) would seem to bear that out.

In answer to the question about PMs being fired - it has happened six times so far (over nine episodes). Don't know how that compares to previous years.

There is a useful table of who wins, loses or is in the boardroom on Wikipedia.

Yes, Courtney does seem to drift in and out, perhaps through tiredness. In the boardroom this could prove disastrous -- apparently they can go on for hours, not just the 10 minutes we are shown.

Yes and that is where the process is flawed because Courtney had every little, if any, to do with the wins.

And you note that he is clearly running out of steam - but has he ever had any ?

Probably a mix of reasons...
Firstly the BBC producers are probably pretty forceful in suggesting that at least one man and one woman should make it at least as far as the interviews and the other 8 men were either worse (JD, Oliver) or so disruptive that they had a negative impact on tasks making it harder for Lord Sugar to assess the other candidates (Sofiane, Dillon, Paul, Mukai, Karthik, Samuel).
Secondly people on this site have been overly critical of him in my opinion- he has given some good ideas and we only see a small minority of what actually happens.
Thirdly it may be that his strengths are highly relevant to his business plan whereas his weaknesses are not, and related to this it seems that he is one of the few candidates who knows he has weaknesses, Lord Sugar may like this self-awareness.
Finally he already has a successful business and Lord Sugar always gives these candidates more leeway.
Personally I see him as lacking in confidence in a lot of ways, especially when dealing with the public and in unfamiliar environments, but other than that as one of the more able candidates. There are many roles in which in which he wouldn't be suitable, but if he has planned his business around his strengths which I imagine has been the case I think he has the potential to make quite a lot of money. I think that the process that the candidates go through only really suits a certain type of person, but Lord Sugar probably knows that you don't have to be that type of person to be successful in the wider world so he probably looks beyond the surface, especially with candidates who seem to be struggling with the early mornings and larger personalities that wouldn't be there in real life.

agreed about the confidence thing. he definitely has difficulty talking in public, as shown during his pitch in week five, his tour in week eight, and his refusal to pitch on stage in week nine. it doesn't make him a bad contestant at all, but he's certainly the weakest of the remaining.

Considering all you have said - which I agree with - how can it not make him a bad contestant because to date he has failed all the very things they are measured on.

One thing for sure - he would not be getting £250,000 of my money.

He knows he's bad at pitching, everyones taking his reluctance to pitch on Thursday as a flaw, but arguably it should be seen as a strength, as knowing when somebody else who is available to you is better placed to do something and letting them do it is a skill that is important in business and is often lacking in The Apprentice candidates. Anyone with any sense would have had Jessica pitching, her and Courtney clearly shared the same vision for the game, so content wise it didn't matter which one did it, and Jess is the bigger personality and the more comfortable presenter.
As far as I can remember he has consistently succeeded in meeting deadlines, has been trusted by vendors to sell their products over the other team, and has brought ideas to the table (but has possibly not been forceful enough at pushing them). He also has a win as PM, even if it was not the most successful task in history, and I don't think he has been involved in arguments with other candidates.
He runs a novelty gift company, so high end sales is totally irrelevant to his business plan and public speaking / pitching is likely to be required very infrequently if at all, so his weaknesses are not really relevant to what his business does.

thank you. Courtney isn't my favourite at all, but some people are saying that he's done sod all, which isn't not true. of course he has weaknesses, but he's not an outright bad candidate at all. the stuff that he's good at, he's really good at. the only thing that bothers me is that he's been purposefully taking a backseat for most of the tasks, and has pretty much skived his way through with his wins.

as said about arguments w/ the other candidates, he's an easy person to get along with. and not like Dillon, which only seems to apply to friendships, but he's good at building professional rapports with people, too. public speaking clearly isn't his strong point, but the fact that he's never been in the final boardroom or specifically targeted by LS says a lot.

i wouldn't be too surprised if he made it to the final two, tbh.

So with the first bit in bold should he win it will be a partnership between him and Sugar - so who is going to do the work - Sugar ?

And concerning the last bits in bold how is going to expand the business because I am sure that Sugar would like to see things moving forward. Not much point on Sugar giving him £250,000 to sit on his arse.

I'd imagine there were plans to employs others in nearly all of the candidates plans, knowing which areas to delegate to others in order to focus on strengths is a plus.
Expansion in that kind of firm would presumably come from a wider product range (either of in house designs, or representation of other brands), bringing another stage of the production process in house (retail stores, or manufacturing plants for example), or expanding into other countries (although considering its pretty low cost products that shouldn't require anything like £250,000 to achieve.

The finals are going to be interesting if he's lucky enough to be in it - how in hell is he going to stand up in front of God knows how many and sell his product if he has no confidence pitching?

Oh he'll be in there all right because people like that swan through life and let other people do the work - and then take all the credit.

I just hope to god he doesn't win - but there is very chance he will - because if he does it will be a travesty.

His business is pretty successful. He was on London Live in October and Paperchase stocks his emoji products. At the moment, he is promoting a doormat with fck off written on it.

I doubt he ever has to stand up and pitch much. His company will send out press releases with links to video of the product and, if they turn up in person, they'll sit around examining the products and chatting.

So why does he need investment of £25,000 ?

Obviously it is to expand - and if he can't pitch ( which he can't ) how is he going to do it ?

I appreciate he could employ staff - but that would cost.

Those old fashioned pitches where the audience know nothing about the product hardly ever happen in real life. The wholesalers will go to his website and order samples of products they're interested in.
