It's clearly a wind up merchant or troll, especially with the black face comment. Another idiot reported and hopefully banned.

Naga is presenting BBC Breakfast on Christmas Day. I assume there won't be a programme on ITV as Christmas Day falls on a Sunday

I usually worked Christmas then married staff could be at home but as their children got older, they preferred New Year off so I usually worked New Year (sometimes both!). |

If world war 3 breaks out, there will be saturation news coverage on many tv channels, which you won't have time to watch ..........

The 14.50 is in the listings I have as just "BBC News" which makes the existence of this thread rather pointless, doesn't it? Sorry, I forgot, this'll bring the entire BBC down and see the end of the licence fee , won't it?

If the "early evening" news on BBC 1 on Christmas Day is at 2:50 then is there a "lunchtime" bulletin on that day?

Is Xmas Day the only day where there is no opt outs?
As long as there is no local trails, surely there is no need for Nations playout on Xmas Day? |

If WW3 broke out, we wouldn't be watching TV at all! It's a bit like some people are betting on Armageddon, if they win, how do they collect their winnings, or even spend it?

What is all the fuss about as there are 2 dedicated news channels -- BBC and Sky and if you have Sky a number of others too. So why all this concern about news bulletins and who the presenters are -- does it really matter who reads the news?

Strictly speaking Armageddon is a localised affair (at least to start with). There'd be time! I don't think TV would be wiped out in a World War though. They managed to keep radio going through the last spat with considerably less technology and safeguards than those currently at our command.

If WW3 broke out no doubt we would still get a boring local news bulletin telling us about somebody winning a tiddley winks competition, a vicar who bought a new bike or a report on a school play, all gripping stuff

Here is the BBC Evening news for Sunday 25 December 2016
Good evening, well let's say good afternoon,
The royal family went to Christmas day service at the church on the Sandringham estate. Various members of the Royal Family attended the service, though there were (insert number) of notable absentees. A few saddos (sorry well-wishers) lined the road to gawp at Her Majesty - BBC reporter xxx was there and did a few few patronising vox pops. In the Queens Christmas Message she mentioned The Family, The Commonwealth and of Course importance of the season from a religious perspective - but we all knew waht she was going to say as it was trailed in the news earlier that day, and probably leaked a couple of days earlier by a red top paper. The Pope appeared at St Peters in Rome to wish pilgrims, and probably a fair few tourists a Happy and Peaceful Christmas in a myriad languages. we wheeled our our Rome correspondent to report on it - well actually we're using last year's as nobody would tell the difference. In Bethlehem last evening, under tight security, pilgrims gathered at Manger Square. Everything went of peacefully, and there were few arrests. That's all for now, we'll leave you with the weather forecast for boxing day presented by whoever drew the short straw and had to work today. Good Night!! ![]() ![]()

The reports are he accesses the house through the chimney but isn't a burglar in fact there are many reports he left boxes in people's homes. The only things taken were mince pies, milk and a carrot. Eye witnesses say he was dressed in red, had a beard, and was quite plump. More on our late night news, or on the BBC News channel. |

This year will be my 20th successive year working Christmas morning. Nothing to do with not liking Christmas, nothing like that at all. I enjoy working Christmas and, more importantly, somebody has to do it. BBC News ( and ITV and Sky etc ) are exactly the same. All this rubbish about "people not getting time with loved ones" and so on. Save your sympathy for NHS workers, fireman, police officers etc OP
PS - The OP says this will probably ( and hopefully ) cost the licence fee payer. Why say that ? |
