"Background" dancers.

I don't think one dance on tonights show was improved by the presence of the "background" dancers, some of who spent too much time in the foreground.

Why do the Producers have to include them ?

I think it added value on musicals night.

I enjoy spotting Neil He's brilliant.

Thought the backing dancers were used quite cleverly in all the routines tonight.

I agree. It reminded me of the background dancers at Blackpool. They were distracting. Several times the competitors could not be seen sufficiently.

Ore's - hated, too big & lumbering and just got in the way
Rob's - OK & their presence understandable
Louise's - great: an integral part of their routine
Claudia's - not needed
Danny's - brilliant especially in that part where they all danced together

Jay and Aliona were the only couple who didn't have them last year in Musicals week because they had the rumba. I think they just detract from the performance and get in the way. The dance floor isn't big enough.

Agree with everything you said

Danny - gave up on watching it - too much show dancing and not enough tango.
Rinder - the backing dancers were doing disco moves so looked out of step with Rob's samba and generally make him look worse
Ore - reminiscent of the dancing teapots for Georgia - what were they smoking?
Louise - made it into show dancing and took away from the quickstep

why is Neil in every dance? let's see more of pasha, gorka, and alijaz in them.

HATED having the extra dancers there, ludicrous! Ruined all of the routines for me.

Annoying and distracting and confuses the dancing . Some of the time it was impossible to tell which was which .

The only thing I enjoyed about the backing dancers was spotting Neil and Chloe!

Otherwise they're a completely useless, ridiculous, distracting and superfluous waste of space and add absolutely nothing to the routines. Theme weeks are not excuses for doing showdances several weeks early, as a couple of the pros were guilty of tonight (I'm looking at you AJ (too many lifts) and Kevin (too little Quickstep))!

Noticed Neil in I think all bar 1 but no idea who the other dancers were

I don't understand why they just didn't use the other Pros who have left the competition.
