Maybe Simon knows that is exposing her weakness doing uptempo songs
"Exs and Ohs" being the perfect example |

and yes she could be doing stuff like that every week if thats what she is good at, there are artists who have had hugely successful careers staying within a genre, you can still show versatility within your preferred genre without having to go outside it |

About a month ago she said she really wanted to do uptempo and since then she'd done nothing but slowed down John Lewis dirges so pretty sure she doesn't figure in their plans for a winner

I thought Emily's songs were really dull, safe choices tonight. Likeable songs but one of them should have been a bit more up beat at least. At least Louie and Nicole were honest after her first performance but I was amazed they all applauded her performance singing Mad World. I don't see what she did to change that song, to make it her own.

Emily's gone, but I reckon Matt will be with her in the bottom 2.
And then next week we'll have everyone making a big deal of the fact that every act has been in the bottom two, it's so close, anyone could win, you really need to vote etc etc. Demon's already been going on about it being anyone's race for a few weeks now, even when it looked like Matt would run away with it. |

I find Emily pretty dull - not my style at all - but how they can accuse her of doing the same thing every week as if it's a bad thing and then give Honey G standing ovations week after week for doing EXACTLY the same thing every week is beyond me.

its quite funny sometimes reading this forum and all the conspiracy theories about the level of manipulation and control the producers have but when Emily gets given predicable songs with dreary arrangements every week its all her fault for being bland and boring

Of the four semi-finalists, Emily is the only one that doesn't make me cringe.

There was something about Emily's treatment that reminded me of Lauren Platt's treatment in 2014's semi final, singing the same kind of songs she performs every week. That probably means she'll be gone tonight, even though I'd rather 5AM to leave before her
. Matt's treatment also reminded me of Ben Haenow's from the same year wierdly enough, his second song was criticized by Mel even though it was decent enough.

To be fair Matt's been sabotaged more than Emily tonight as he was rammed on first, and the song choices really exposed his weaknesses.
I want Emily to get through along with 5am and then the two big divas to fight it out for the last spot! Variety is the spice of life after all! |

I do hope so, she is so dull she doesn't deserve the final.
