Whether he was a diva/snowflake/hissy-fitter etc. it really doesn't matter... there was obviously bad blood there (no Celeb in Strictly history has missed ITT!) and it would have been very awkward seeing him dance with Karen again after all the rumours and gossip from various news outlets.

Coming back would only make people more confused. At this time he did the right thing declining the opportunity. Halving his fee was right on the producers too imo!

I personally think he was in over his head, realised he wasn't that good and decided then why bother? Remember it was the week after Danny got everyone talking with his awesome dancing! Couple that with the Len debacle and I just think he thought sod it & threw in the towel.

I've heard of people meeting him after concerts 'back in the day' and he wasn't a very nice person... seemed thoroughly miserable guy and avoided his fans. Quite sad really.

His ego carried him on Pop Idol and he tried the same trick on SCD... different show, different rules! Can't see any other show booking him now, it's done more damage to him then Strictly or Karen in the long run.

It would look very odd if he turned up at the end having walked out. I like Will and he has his reasons for leaving but I'm glad for his sake he isn't.

For a start whoever said further up that he never appeared on It Takes Two was wrong: he was on both weeks he was on the show.

We don't know there was any "bad blood" whatsoever, in fact both he and Karen have said the opposite. It's the press who trotted out a thousand and one contradictory reasons why he left, all we still know is it was for personal reasons.

Even the stuff about anxiety, depression, etc is being borrowed from things he's said in the past.

There's a lot of back covering going on here I suspect, Len telling the press he'd been assured it was nothing to do with him, other Strictly people giving the line that "none of us know what's going on in people's lives" , not guilty milud..blah, blah.

One attribute Will has in spades is perception. I'm sure he wishes he'd never signed up for the show, how could he not after the manure thrown all over him because he had the temerity to leave. There's no way on earth he would think it appropriate to go back on the final show, it would have reignited all the nastiness he got for leaving and it would have looked like he was trying to scene steal. It was a ridiculous concept to even think he should be asked if he wanted to come back, it sickens me actually, as it smacks of the producers trying to distance themselves from any criticism, and the way the gutter press work it shoves more grief at Will.

It also makes me laugh when people mention his fee as if that was some lure to do the show and that he's been punished in some way. He's a multimillionaire!

If Will had had such great perception he wouldn't have gone on the show in the first place. I don't believe he is a very upbeat guy, and i think he seeks a great deal of attention and sympathy, where on his Facebook page he has posted pictures frowning and looking downbeat. He only posts them because he's fishing for sympathy from those who are always going to love him no matter what. I feel he's forever wallowing in self pity, but that is really not the answer. Everyone could have the potential to behave like him, but a great many of us manage to rise above it, if not deep down, at least in the surface. Will's desperately unhappy, but he can't keep relying on his fans to be his shortterm crutch.

Well something changed and we'll never know what it was. Will was actually the celeb I was most excited about when the names were announced and was very disappointed when he left. I think he could have done his "brand" a great service by staying with the show and just enjoying it. Look at Ed, he's come out of this smelling of roses!

I agree. He did what he thought was right for him and I don't have a problem with that.


That was 14 years ago and it changed his life forever. His problem with anxiety issues is well documented and he's recently talked about being diagnosed with PTST. Getting well and staying well is an ongoing thing.

Will is the only person who will know what is right for him . Trying to deal with difficulties in life under the scrutiny of the public and media must add hugely to his stress

The show did the right thing by inviting him and Will did the right thing by declining. Considering the circumstances of his exit he obviously thought him returning wouldn't be right and that's fair enough.

By appearing to be petulant, even though we don't know the full facts, he may have scuppered his chances of West End roles ( surely the point of the exercise)

He doesn't seek sympathy at all, he's ridden the storm (in a teacup) of him leaving away from the public eye. All he did after a week was to reassure his fans he was ok.

It wouldn't seem right if he popped up again. His Strictly appearance has achieved the opposite of what is usual. Now he has a lower profile and fewer people are going to want to hire him. A complete dance dusaaster, darling.

I expect his relations with SCD are poor.......no doubt they had channeled alot of energy into getting him to appear and were expecting him to be a big crowd puller

God I'll bet he'll be glad when it's all over. It'll probably be a trigger for depression forever and ever, whenever he hears the theme tune.
We don't know what went wrong. I think he just found it all too much to cope with. Jay got insulted almost every week (about his face ... one particular nasty jibe about it when his Grandad had died that day) but some people can't deal with it. Perhaps they're too emotionally fragile to cope with four idiots (mainly two) saying what they like (sometimes just for effect) and Len's remarks were belittling. A stronger person would shrug it off but we know Will has been through bad times recently ... perhaps he thought that it'd sink him again if he came in for more of it or that he'd be always on the defensive which turns you into someone you're not.
I still think it was to do with Len's words, he was very dismissive and it's hard to take everything as a joke when you're emotionally fragile. I can't imagine how Will feels, he was such a fan of the show and it's all just played out like a nightmare but perhaps he also found that they were trying to make him be who he wasn't ... again like Jay ... trying to Strictlyfy him and make him live in a tinsel bubble which just isn't necessary. I thought he was coping with that well and keeping his own style but maybe it was a struggle. Wardrobe do prefer it if your willing to be put in ill fitting, sequin covered, slacks. After your double dipping in creosote of course.
He obviously felt to continue would be detrimental to his well being and nobody can argue with that as he knows himself best. It might be selfish but then everyone should be selfish when it comes to their own health and peace of mind.
If I was him and had money, I'd take myself off to a remote cabin somewhere in Norway or something until the new year. He'll be forever asked about it though.
