Matter of opinion Chris as is life, at least it gives me more chance to watch Oti's smile cant get enough of that i am biased and Know it don't care go doti go
Hi Collaw

She's a fierce dancer and I liked the Samba which did deserve the 40. I was probably a bit harsh a couple of nights back about her. Just not a fan of that Tango.

Just wish I could like Danny a bit better.

I did not expect this thread to go the way it did 😮 but it's interesting to see different viewpoints .

I love the fact that Len complimented on her choreography last saturdsyy and especially her use of the backing dancers. This is the 2nd time that they are cleverly used in her and Danny's routines .

Hilarious that Claudia and AJ are criticised for using moves from a Derek Hough Argentine Tango, yet Oti is praised for her "innovative" use of backing dancers that looks suspiciously similar to, yep you guessed it, a Derek Hough tango.

There are always going to be dances with similarities.

Yes....ok

I like Oti, and some of her choreo - but there's no denying that there is some "inspiration" in this instance.

I just watched a clip. Yes, there may be some inspiration but hardly the exact same move. Maybe Oti hasn't even seen that dance, but thought that it was an obvious way to use the extra dancers.

I'm aware it's not identical...

So obvious that we see it for every tango with backing dancers

Yes indeed! But it's going to happen at some point I just hope Strictly doesn't totally go the way of DWTS

I think she's terrific. It makes up a little (but certainly not entirely) for the loss of Aliona...the rebel Queen of choreography in my opinion.

I have to say - I really, really liked her Quickstep and Samba choreo.

i like oti, she is a lovely personality and one of the few pros who looks better in the training room than all dolled up for the show. Her choreo has been pretty good so far, especially given some of the music choices, inventive and interesting in the main.

i have to say i didn't like the way the backing dancers were used in their routine on saturday, but then i haven't ever liked anyone's use of backing dancers with the notable exceptio of ore and joanne's american smooth at blackpool. they are usually an irritant at best.

my main issue with oti is her legs- they are quite bandy at times and her feet tend to sickle inwards. Not always, but its an odd disjunct with the rest of her fabulous performances when it does happen.

Oti's great and one of the best things about SCD this year. As to the choreo, there's nothing new under the sun and "that" samba looked to me very much like many DWTS sambas, such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkyrfNn3ZCs

Lord that's awful though. Apart from the tribal theming I can't see the similarity.

Nor could I. It lacked the freedom of Danny & Oti's for a start. All very just so.

Fabulous choreography every week. She's incredible
yeah I wasn't sure about her last year.......but she is very good; mind you she doesn't have to do too much to make danny look good.
