She sounded like an amateur opera singer trying to sing pop and the judges reaction was nauseating.

It was decent. Her very apparent nervousness and her comments on being overwhelmed afterwards are what made the performance to me.

As the song ended, I wasn't that moved, but after the interview I really was.

kinda sums up how i feel about her

she has a good voice but there is just nothing original about her

the reaction on this forum to her has been just as nauseating as the judges as well

So, it wasn't quite as perfect as I was expecting if I'm totally honest - you could feel a hint of nerves. Still streets ahead of anything else on the show this evening though, no contest.

An amateur opera singer would have sounded a lot worse

Saara is very formal and theatrical, but she's not popera

I didn't think it was great, but I'm blaming the arrangement for that

(yeah, I don't think she's very original or current or even interesting sometimes, but for an "X Factor is just TV" person like me she's still better than everyone else)

i dont think anyone is denying she has the best pure singing voice in the competition and in a year when the standard has been pretty horrendous it has helped her stand out

every time i watch her i keep thinking its an episode of Stars in their Eyes not the X Factor tho

Is that the song that Kevin did in his Voice audition? I prefer his version TBH.

Saara is a good singer but it's all a bit theatrical and Eurovision for my taste

dont forget to add 'in your opinion'

on any talent show or cover that is the best i have ever heard the song, better than Kevin on the voice IMO.. even with her obvious nervousness.

Sarah Brightman came to mind during that performance.

No. it really wasn't. However, this is. And this is stunning.

Edit - And Kevin Simm's The Voice performance was far better

No-one on the X-Factor is 'original', to be fair, so it seems odd to use that as a criticism of one, when it applies to them all. Personally, I think Saara has the best voice in the competition by a mile, and has shown some versatility (as much as can be shown on a TV show which is basically a karaoke competition).

I don't rate Saara that highly as some people on here. Come on folks, we know there are a few female singers who came on this show in the last 12 years can outshine Saara - she isn't THAT great

I think people are missing the point that Chandelier was probably not one of her outstanding performances on the show, perhaps because it didn't entirely suit her. If she was supposed to have peaked on XF tonight then you could rightly start saying she was nothing special but it was perfectly decent nonetheless.

She can only beat what's put in front of her. There's not much point comparing her to a Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke or Sam Bailey or whatever as she's not competing in the same year as them.

That's my point - she is not that great as people on here keep raving on about - yes she is the best vocalist left in the competition but there is nothing special about her tbh

She's phenomenal. Technically, the best singer on the show by miles.

Good singer but not phenomenal

In my opinion, she is. She'a a power house. But not to everybody's tastes, I am sure.

Powerhouse? I actually like strong female powerful singers (I'm a fan of Leona and Alexandra) - I just don't think she is that great IMO

Saara belts a lot during her singing, and I think she does it well. And she has a good range. I admit, I prefer Leona's tone (and range), as I think Saara's tone/style of singing is very theatrical. But she still does it well. Saara won't set the world alight, but she's certainly got talent.

Pretty much this. Competent singer and performer, but not great.
