For me it would go this way:
1. Saara Aalto - Chandelier 2. Emily Middlemas - Mad World 3. Saara Aalto - White Christmas/All I Want for Christmas is You 4. Mat Terry - Silent Night 5. 5 After Midnight - Sign, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours 6. Emily Middlemas - Happy XMas (War is Over) 7. Mat Terry - Say You Love Me 8. 5 After Midnight - Stay Another Day |

A review/honest critique of last night Fix Factor (Honey G you still live on singing in my head.
Following the departure of true winner in what was one of the most biased Sing Offs in the history of the sow we start with Matt Terry, the young ladies man who is as bland as a salt-less diet singing 'Silent Night' - what should have been a easy one for him - I've never heard Silent Night without it bringing a tear to my eye and he certainly did that - but for te first time it was tears of pain and despair - even when the choir kicked in it was not enough to hide his poor vocal ability. Next up the bastards who knocked out My Honey G - singing (like last weeks Sing Off) with little backing track - and must say this is probably their best performance - they did appear to lose it near te end - but The Powers That Be quickly rectified it by bringing up the music backing to drown them out in that tried and true method that has served them well so for.. My only gripe with the performance is IT WAS NOT A BLOODY CHRISTMAS SONG - YES IT MA HAVE BEEN XMAS NUMBER ONE IN 1194 - BUT THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT A CHRISTMAS SONG - JUST LIKE MR BLOODY BLOBBY AND BOB THE FECKING BUILDER AREN'T CHRISTMAS SONGS - Yes it may be about someone killing themselves and there are more suicides at Christmas but still doesn't make it a CHRISTMAS SONG and therefore no matter how shite the other acts may be 5AM will come bottom of my poll for CHEATING. Emily up next trying to better John Lennon - who considering he was BIGGER than Jesus will be a big ask - HMMMM, Not sure what to make of this not as good as 5AM (but they are disqualified so it doesn't matter) but far superior to Matt and more or less in tune - but like Matt still lacks the emotional impact of the original but at least she isn't shown up as incompetent by the choir. Finishing of the Christmas Songs (even if one wasn't) we have Saara singing White Christmas - funny as I heard she was singing Mariah's All I Want for Christmas - Oooh looks like she has switched it up and morphed into Mariah and for once the switch up hasn't seen Saara fall flat on her face - just a shame that it appears her right arm has developed a life of it's own and is doing it best impression of Mr Tickle - And there she goes and ruins it with the last note. Now onto the second part - Artist's 'Choice' - and up first is Emily - Sat on the floor cross-legged and barefoot (yum) I think we have a winner here - the last time she went barefoot she was amazing and she has done it again with Mad World - If she'd put the emotion into War is Over as she is doing here she would have been the runaway success of the night - instead it is going to be a close call between her and Saara - a word of advice if you make it to next week keep your shoes off and show us those feet again. And next we have Mr Bland again Matt Terry - once again showing that, just like Justin Beiber, you don't need any kind of vocal ability, talent or personality to be a star (in the making) - with this and Silent Night Matt has surely out in the two worst performances of the night (Saara at her worst has never been this bad) - I'm gutted that I will HAVE to place him third in my rankings ![]() And the penultimate act is Saara - looks like 5AM have been given the pimp position - and what the **** is Saara singing - it appears that she has spilt her usual great start and sudden drop in quality halfway through her song and decided to do it between the two songs - I take my words back from the previous post about Saara's worst never been as bad as Matt - It now is as bad as him - worst performance by Saara this series. Finally 5AM - and back to cheesy, miming boys we all know and love (not really sold on the love part) - just to think we could have had Honey G instead of this Poor Man's JLS - singing Christmas Wrapping and some other Honey G creation - we would have missed out on the amazing Stay but would have been spared this travesty. Final Rankings - 1) - Emily #2 (Mad World) 2) - Saara #1 (White Christmas/All I Want for Christmas (Is You)) 3) - Emily #1 (Happy Xmas (War is Over)) 4) - 5AM #2 (Signed, Sealed, Delivered) 5) - Matt #1 (Silent Night) 6) - Saara #1 (Chaldelier) 7) - Matt #2 (Say You Love Me) DISQ) - 5AM #1 (Stay Another Day) |
