I felt Darcey was unacceptable last night, criticising Claudia over character again and not looking at Danny's feet in the Tango!

If you are a professional judge, you need to judge all aspects.

I find Darcey's comments spot on.

Her comment about not looking at Danny's feet at all was a bit odd. How can you judge a dance and give it a very high mark if you completely ignore parts of it.

She was going to give him a ten and after comments about his feet from other judges I thought she was just trying to cover herself.

Perhaps there should be two sets of scores .. One for technique and one for performance.....

I like that notion - max 5 for each, 2 different paddles so the public can see their marks.

However, unfortunately, it would still very much rely on integrity and therefore we have the same issue, we have seen 10's before when a judge has verbally stated there have been errors or poor technique.

Manipulation and favoritism will always come up trumps with those paddles - very unfortunately so.....

That's how the French Danse avec les Stars works. Just a shame that overall, it's a far less entertaining show, the standards of the dances aren't as high (imo) and it goes on for about 4 hours (though I admit the main part of the show is about 90 minutes or less - but there are loooong ad breaks.

I think Darcey's wasn't looking at his feet... style comments shouldn't be taken too seriously - all the judges make that type of comment, even Craig, and it's simply because it's an entertainment show and not a pure judge the dancing show, there has to be a bit of tongue-in-cheekery going on in the critique. But we know that.

And Bruno ignored Claudia's blip in the final lift. I get the feeling that Craig/Len are basically consistent while Darcey/Bruno do what they need to fine-tune the judge's placements

Well no, she wasn't correct, as a judge, the most important part of a dance is the feet, they are the foundation of the dance. Because Danny's feet were so wrong, everything about the dance was wrong, his legs every movement he made.

As Craig said, no dance where the feet are so wrong can ever be a ten.

I was so confused by her opinion, especially given her background in dance.

I suspect that she was enraptured by the overall performance in which Danny (more than) held his own with the professional dancers.

Yes, I don't think she deserved a ten last night, last week yes, not last night.

But I think Brumo said he ignored AJ's mistake on the thing where he slipped. I don't think things should be overlooked for a ten, but it's easier to overlook a small flaw like a little slip of mis-step, but the whole dance being fundamentally flawed because the footwork is incorrect is another matter.

But then again Bruno gave Danny a ten too....

I did feel she DESERVED A TEN BOTH WEEKS, sit was AJ's mistake. And it was minute, the judges are meant to judge the celeb, and I did feel that Bruno's reason for a 10 was legitimate, but I can see where you are coming from, I just don't agree, but never mind.

Don't like Darcy's obsession with Claudia's lack of... whatever. She sounded like she was trying to convince herself last night. It came out very forced, like she couldn't find anything else to criticise. Totally subjective too. I personally find there's heaps of chemistry between Claudia & AJ, especially given how difficult it must be to convey when, in Claudia's case, her eye line is on a par with her dance partner's chest, rather than his face!

And Bruno ignored Claudia's blip in the final lift. I get the feeling that Craig/Len are basically consistent while Darcey/Bruno do what they need to fine-tune the judge's placements
As others have pointed out Bruno did explain that he wasn't going to penalise Claudia for AJ's mistake (I love AJ but it was his fault! ). Not sure how I feel about overlooking a mistake from the pro. But then Claudia should have gotten at least one 10 last week imo, so it's all swings and roundabouts. The scoring is just all over the place.

BIB: Easy when you haven't got a clue what you should be looking for. Darcey doesn't know anything about technique. A couple of times in the past she has even commented on technique, such as footwork, and been totally and utterly wrong.

Darcy is marking a touch tougher than Len this season. It's what a lot of people have been asking for but it's no surprise that some people get annoyed when she marks up, some people gets annoyed when she matches Len, and now people are getting annoyed when she marks down.

It was kind of embarrassing because her lack of technical knowledge was exposed and she made it worse by saying something about focusing on Danny's top half (when we know she wouldn't have known what to look for even if she was focussed on his footwork). I'm beginning to think Alesha was better qualified tbh - and she had bags more personality.

I still cannot understand her score last series , when she said she could not give Jay a 10 for his jive as it was only week 3 , she gave a nine . It shouldn't matter what week it's performed

I caught a few minutes of the French one last weekend, they have 2 sets of scores.

Edit: I see that's already been mentioned.
