Having said that no one will ever replace Haley Reinhart. Her and Casey Abrahams were my favourite AI contestants of all time. |

I think the problem is that Emily just doesn't have the strength in her voice to be able to do something like that. Last night, she sounded like she was struggling to make any sound at all.

I find it amusing that everyone is an expert here.
I think we all seem to be brain-washed into thinking that bellowing out a song and doing vocal gymnastics is somehow the same as vocal ability. |

Emily has been ill for weeks- her voice is pretty much gone. Even Matt and Saara are beginning to show signs of vocal strain. 5am don't have to worry about their voices.

I don't think we have. I know I certainly haven't. I dislike singers who bellow out a song and indulge in vocal gymnastics just as much as I dislike singers like Emily, who turn every song into a lifeless dirge.
The fact is that Emily is interesting but she hasn't finished developing yet. There is also limited appeal for singers who make everything sound depressing. |

Maybe if the producers had put the best singers through we wouldn't be having these debates. This is real root cause of the lack of quality.
