Mmmm! Christmas 91, wasn't long 11. Batman 89 taping it on VHS Christmas Day.

Quite unreal and how I had forgotton the channels closing down after 1:15am.

I must be missing something but I could have sworn Masters of the Universe 1987 Dolph Lundgren, Frank Langella film was on Christmas day or boxing day BBC1 early 90s. Cannot seem to find it.
Used to tape it a lot.”

I dont think I saw it myself on BBC1 as I remember renting it at the time.

I do wish I had taped more stuff back then, but I dont think to this day many people kept their tapes.

Cool 1990. I remember that Christmas well as my gran was over for Christmas that year and remember it on that afternoon. Was so sure it was Christmas Day. Think it was snowing?

Warm and cosy Christmas time, festive mood, white Christmas, good TV, Masters of the Universe on. ;D

Oh and Back to the Future.

I remember rushing home on Xmas Eve 1990 to record that Masters of the Universe premiere on BBC.

Vividly remember watching Return of the Jedi on ITV xmas eve a year earlier. Can kind of remember the Ghostbusters premiere in 1987 and BFG in '89.

I remember a lot of Star Wars on in the 80s for Christmas but was too young to appreciate it back then since the first two were out before I was born. I didn't know what the Millenium Falcon was as the cool kids had those huge toys for Christmas. Damn those toys were huge and so crazily detailed in 87/88.

Let alone the other cool kids that had the toys from the cartoon series M.A.S.K., the Rhino truck, Boulder Hill and all the Transformers toys. Funny how all this comes flooding back after looking at this TV guide.

Same for Ghostbusters as I remember the dogs with the red eyes scaring the hell out of me. More so all the hands coming out of the sofa.

I also remember the BFG. Lots of Roger Moore Bond films... More so my special favourite as a child, Santa Clause the Movie 84? Dudley Moore, Sheena Easton sang the song. Oh and The Snowman on Channel 4.

Saw The Snow Dog a few years ago?

Return Of The Jedi was on Boxing Day in 1989,with Empire Strikes Back on Xmas Day the year before but got trounced in the ratings by Back To The Future

Yeah, the Star Wars stuff eluded me too tbh. Return of the Jedi caught my attention due to the Ewoks, who had a spin-off cartoon shown to Saturday mornings. It was always He-Man, Thundercats, Ghostbusters, MASK with me - in that order.

All I have to do is watch The Snowman, The Aled Jones video or the scene in The Goonies when they set off on their adventure. Immediately I feel like I'm back in the 1980s and getting ready to turn on my Amstrad CPC. Same with these old Xmas listings.

1986 Christmas Day BBC tv looks good, would have probably watched Every Second Counts and The Russ Abbot show, despite being only 4 years old at the time!

You do realise brothers can fall out over things and have rivalries? Del and Rodney were rivalling siblings but deep down they cared for each other.

Rodney was such a plonker, it's no wonder Del wound him up.

Because hes a nasty and spitful character. Oh poor person he had to bring someone up on his own. Bloody guilt tripping character.

The only person he ever cares about is himself because hes selfish, arrogant and does things to suit him.

Yes, she's still got it somewhere.
The last countdown bit was about council houses/council property, the bit that's against the clock. In her panic she said that Buckingham Palace was a council house.
