What justification could there be for killing animals at all when we have no need to?
Do you think it's wrong to harm animals unnecessarily? |

Of course I do/don't appreciate it (depending on the meaning); I would much rather people farmed organically, but if it is a choice between non-organic and meat I go with non-organic, because it still has a lower environmental impact and does not keep animals in dreadful conditions.
We also produce a lot more crops than we actually use and throw a good proportion away before it even gets to the supermarket. Grazing land can also be converted into arable land, providing crops that more than fulfil our population's protein requirements. Sustaining a growing population is incredibly problematic and will be increasingly so. |

Militant animal rights activists really believe that all the world will be vegan one day. I can't see it, not in my lifetime anyway. The meat industry is huge and the majority of people eat meat if they can get it. I used to be vegan but I was feeling weak, was underweight and quite frankly didn't enjoy my food. I feel and look much better now. The militant animal rights activists won't change me back to being vegan no matter what they tell me. Many animals eat other animals, it's part of nature and nature can be cruel.

I even dated a veggie not long ago, in the end I guess she didn't want my meat (bdum tsshh) so I dont hate on anyone's beliefs I just feel the constant guilt tripping from over the top air headed veggies or vegans is non called for. I dont lecture them about their choice so why lecture me? I'll just carry on eating meat as its my choice. I'd be like you, I wouldn't enjoy my food at all as there is a lot of meat in my diet and switching to being a veggie or vegan would just feel alien and weird to me.

I eat meat, I don't feel guilty about it. More to the point, I don't let anyone else even attempt to guilt trip me regarding it. The farming communities, especially animal based farms are being hit hard enough as it is.

I think within my lifetime lab-grown meat will be indistinguishable from the 'real' thing and will be readily available on shop shelves.
