Is it my imagination, or is Ant totally fed up?

I've never got this impression other series, but throughout this series he just has the air to me of someone who doesn't want to be there any more. Dec was much more "in charge" than normal I thought - taking the lead rather than being the dopey fall guy. I wonder is he bored with IAC? Possible scenario of Ant wanting to finish it and Dec not? Interesting dynamic in a duo if that is the case. Then again may just be my imagination running away with me.

doing the same old drab shows year after year, plus all the money he'll ever need, it's understandable, I'd have retired long ago

I might be wrong but I have a feeling his wife is pregnant - she certainly looks like it on It Takes Two - the spin off for Strictly.

If this is the case, perhaps he is worried about what is going on back home and he just wants to get on with it and get back to blighty.

He has annoyed me a lot this series but if this is the case, then he can be forgiven.

Maybe another scenario is that he wants to get right back on that lovely golf course

Perhaps he's tired with it being 6/7am in the morning?
I don't know, maybe just a thought...

And anyway, they signed a 3 year contract not that long ago. Don't think he would have did that if he didn't like it.

You could be right as they've been trying for a while,

I can't see them giving up this gig. Being paid a fortune for a month long all inclusive jolly up

I reckon Dec is more like the new Ronnie Corbett, he's great at putting because he's much closer to the hole

Aw I'm a Northumbrian lass and I quite like my fellow N Easterners. Well, I mean I like Ant and Dec. Not that hopeless duo on the Extra show and a few others.......
Ant doesn't look fed up to me.

Agree, I've found them really hard going this year. Every 'joke' came across as laboured and 'been there done it'.

It's not just the sister show that needs a serious shake up.

I just put it down to his dead-pan delivery. He never was much of a giggler.

I did think this series their interaction seemed a bit more stilted. Far less fun and ad libbing than previous years. Yet you're right OP, I think it's more Ant who's struggling. After so many years, they're probably a bit jaded, plus they wrote in their book that they're usually up hours earlier, preparing, so maybe knackered! There's also been a bit more controversy this year which neither of them would like, and finally if he's the only one without his wife, maybe he's just missing home.

Crazy to think they've been doing I'm A Celebrity for 15 years and Got Talent for 10 years without fail! Plus Takeaway since 2002 with the odd break here and there

To say they've been around forever on the box they're only 41 years old too

I agree - both shows need a serious overhaul. I gave up on Extra Camp after 20 minutes of first one - truly awful!!! The whole thing seemed bland and boring - same old awful trials. Only good thing - everyone in the camp seemed very nice.

He was definitely happier last night - obviously because it was the last one!

Everything seemed very forced with Ant this year, usually I have a few laughs at their gags but I struggled to muster up a smile.
Maybe I'm imagining but I got the feeling he was thoroughly p***ed off throughout & would rather have been anywhere else than presenting I'm a Celeb.
Also, again I could have imagined it but he did seem extra grumpy when he got hit with the water in the cyclone task.
Dec seemed, imo, to carry him through, not his best series even from the get go.

Well his experience is different to Dec in there. Dec's wife even when he was not going out with her was always with them every year in Aus as she is their manager. Ant's wife is not only not with them or shared the experience once but he has not spent his birthday with his own wife in fifteen years !!!! That's something. Maybe he does feel a bit more fed up than Dec as the show unfolds.

Have they got different script writers this year? A lot of the jokes fell very flat in my opinion.

The one about Ant having a crush on Larry went on far too long and didn't really seem to have any reason or punchline.

Additionally, I think they really need to have larger than life camp mates to bounce off and react to and they really didn't have that this series.
