Muxco NE Wales, Liverpool and Cheshire Mux Issues.
Sitting in my local in Liverpool, metres away from the St. John's Beacon TX, I am unable to receive the WCL mux. Has anyone else noticed a weakness? Usually this blasts out. I can listen on the bus with only one element of the aerial up. At home it's 100% signal. Now, it's unlistenable on the move, aerial fully extended, and at home varies between 70-90 on a 4 element DAB antenna.
The Liverpool mux with Radio City 2 on is perfect on the same radios. Anyone else experiencing any issues. Of the 5 services I listen to regularly, 3 are on this multiplex, so most annoying. |

I'm near St Helens and have had trouble with this mux for much of the year, although it was previously fine with the same radio and location.
Any more out there noticing issues? |

Took a trip down to Birkenhead today on the bus. This once rock solid TX was a bubbling mess. I wonder how bad it affects Sandgrounder, as the reception was pretty crap in Southport anyway?

Great news! The tower of power is back, and the signal is back to normal. Just listening to Chris Country on the bottom deck of the bus home, aerial down, and practically glitch free, (well it certainly would be if I was upstairs or had the aerial up)..
Perhaps omnidirectional and Tee Hee can have another try now? |

In the past, particularly if a new station has launched or someone has dropped bit rates, there does tend to be a few days of signal issues. It could not be related but it seems to happen at the same time.

Well, what a difference half a day makes! All seems to have finally returned to normal, and the signal is back to it's robust self all the way home

It's better for me too. It's been a long while since I've had stable reception of that multiplex but it seems fine at the moment.

Great news! All thanks to Chris Country's Chris for his perseverance in getting the guys to sort the signal

you need to find a more exciting pub where you dont feel the need to tune into the radio
A don't need an exciting pub, just one serving great ales.

Just spotted this thread this morning. I noticed Radio Wales was silent on Sunday morning on DAB (full signal, just no audio. 882 was fine - on the bathroom radio!). I normally listen to the countryside programme and to Sunday Supplement. It was off for a while - can't remember exact times. Cymru was fine, and Wales was back by the following morning. Could've been a coincidence. But maybe the signal was reduced while they fixed the problem with R Wales?

I go to the pub quite often after work, on my own, for a couple of wind down pints, also means I avoid the bus crush. I could sit and read in silence, but prefer to listen to the radio. Obviously, when I'm in company I don't have the radio on

The Ship & Mitre is a personal favourite when I'm at a loose end in town
![]() The Kiln always has a great selection of ales on too, the best selection of all the Spoons in town.I first noticed the signal had dropped when I tuned in to check out the return of Chris Country, so Thurs, December 1st. |

The Lime Kiln for me. The prices keep getting higher and higher at The Ship, whereas at The Kiln varies between £1.85-2.25 a pint

Didn't listen any earlier than Sunday morning, so not sure how long it was off for. |

We've had some power issues at the site that's affected the transmitter's timing (with the other transmitters). The result was some listeners would have perceived a drop in coverage. All fixed.
